Derby County deal expected to collapse

Kirchner's deal was supposedly to pay something like 35p in the pound but over three years. That would have satisfied the EFL, tax man and the other creditors. If he has pulled out as is rumoured it leaves Mike Ashley as the only viable buyer left. It's thought he'll only offer 25p in the pound OR LESS which will result in another 15 point deduction. Not sure the wages were paid at the end of May either which means another -3 point. Had enough tbh.

Blackpool was class, in fact the whole season was enjoyable in a mad kind of way, the squad and supprters really pulled together, some great moments. Pity everything else is so messed up.
How do you apportion blame? Is it all down to unscrupulous/imcompetent owners or do you put some blame at the door of the EFL who, post-Bury, are supposed to be blocking such fraudulent and incompetent vultures from getting into the game? Also, is Rooney likely to stay? I think you can tell from the posts that Derby are well thought of as a 'proper club'.

Inevitably. There's not even any evidence that they're one of the two acceptable offers. They've only said they're in discussions, and Methven didn't name names.
but the article said "TFT have yet to pay their deposit to take the deal to exclusivity." suggests they have made an offer no?

plus, methven says theres been two offers, which means there probably is none.

Offer, acceptance and completion are all three different animals. I wouldn't worry - all the evidence suggests they'll never raise the deposit, never mind the purchase price. I've no doubt Mad Billy has made offers as well.

TFT arent buying sunderland..they havent even nearly got the money and have already failed the EFL owners and directors test...they are risning safc for publicity right now...thats all.

So he spent the day playing golf.. Clearly has priorities
Looks like he's worried sick eh?
Sadly. I'm overjoyed with the news, but thats simply because it looked like Derby were going to a real threat next season
I feel for Derby fans, but that simply lip service...
The sheer tribal nature of all of us as "Football fans" lets this sorta of stuff carry on
"Devil take the hindmost"
I would honestly love to be different, and know I'm wrong in my selfish outlook.....
But
Until every other f.ooker changes...I'm staying the same..absolute hypocritical bllx isn't it?
Still...

Play up The Wednesday!!!

Matches between Sunderland and Derby are rarely dull. In 72/73 we had the League Cup saga, in 90/91 we both went down from the top flight but had 3 memorable games, including a 6-0 League Cup thrashing for us, and then us somehow throwing away a 3-0 lead at the Baseball Ground. There's been 5-0's for each of us and the last time we met we gave County a bit of a hammering despite being pish all season.

This is what makes clubs. Players, matches, supporters, memories. It's no coincidence that what destroys clubs are business people who have no concept of this and think of us as figures on a profit & loss sheet and nothing else.

The people of Derby deserve much, much better than the vultures who have owned or are circling the club, and an EFL enabling this.

Feel for the fans, it isn't their fault and they're the ones left suffering the shit of the last owner spending well beyond their means to try and get promotion.

Pooooooooom

Clearly an issue with the EFLs alleged ' fit and proper ' test. The latest developments re Bury and now Derby county actually now puts into question Dumb and Dumbers original purchase of us whereby the club's own funds appear to have been instrumental in the purchase of our club intself.

Cant see anything positive for Derby fans from that, always thought there was every chance of this once they got relegated

Have they got any players we could use? Without the deductions they were a solid mid-table championship side (I'd absolutely advocate paying a decent fee btw, not really a fan of teams paying next to nowt for players from clubs in administration like what happened to Wigan a few years back. You can make it work for both teams).

God knows how you apportion blame for the whole situation its got so complicated, in the first place you have to blame Mel Morris for getting us in to the financial mess, taking us into Administration and keeping hold of the ground. people can blame the fans for backing Morris when he was chucking the cash about but it was always made clear that we could afford it and were well within the rules. Then things started changing, things became 'murky' involving the stadium and the way we valued players and thats about when it got too complicated for my block head!

The EFL have proved to be useless but i don't necessarily blame them overall, they can't be seen to favour us over other clubs. I dont blame Boro or the bloke at Wycombe although i think both situations werent helpful,

Other than that nobody has a clue whats happening currently. Is the proposed buyer a crook? i dont think so, does he have the money to buy the club? i think so. He was supposed to pay the wages at the end of May but the money never appeared, why is he on Twitter being so chipper 100% sure the money is going through??someone within the club paid the wages, nobody knows who that was.

As for Rooney ive no idea. Is he linked to the buyer? his agent has some history with the people mentioned, is mel morris still in there pulling the strings? there are all sorts or rumours about that. Whats happened to the Administrators who are not releasing any statements or responding to anything.

The sportscene man on Radio Derby LIVE now is saying that he knos from a source he trusts 100% that Mike Ashley has £28 million sat there in the bank now waiting to buy the club but the EFL wont step in to mediate with the Administrators who seem to be set this Kirchner bloke and refusing any contact with Ashley when the excusivity period or whatever it is called was up weeks ago

It's good to see some understanding of the situation on here, nobody wants sympathy but hearing Brum fans singing about a party whil your club dies while chucking seats at you is a bit rough!
Proper club sunderland and similar in many ways to Derby.

Sorry to waffle on but you did ask :)

We've only got 5 players under contract come the end of June but yeah fill your boots...Knight and Bird are both quality.
