Given the promising display by McFadzean yesterday, is it worth considering pushing Hume further forward to give us some extra pace that we are sadly lacking?

 I love how some people always think wing backs or full backs even with better attacking qualities would be better further up. Its called the PVA argument. No they benefit from having space in front of them that they would have further up the pitch.

No. Hume starts, McFadzean bench

We’ve got pace just Parkinson doesn’t pick it. Gooch has been in and out, Diamond is quick, Benji is quick (now injured but wasn’t under consideration)

Hume hasn’t got the nous to be effective further forward, his movement, positioning and technical ability would be up to the required standard.

He gets into attacking areas due to his pace and enthusiasm but as we see his end product is very erratic.

MacFadzdean demonstrated yesterday he’s a viable alternative to Hume or will be when he‘s fully fit.

Yesterday should be a timely reminder to Hume that if he lets his standards slip there’s someone ready to take his shirt.

A timely reminder, why?

He's been one of our most consistent players for the last year or so. He certainly isn't one who needs a kick up the arse or a timely reminder

Nobody should be guaranteed their shirt. Up to now Hume had been pretty much our only option at left wingback.
As for his form he’s been pretty good this season by and large. Is he the finished article?- far from it. I think he could learn a thing or two from McFadzean in the accuracy of crossing the ball for example.
As good as Hume’s been his final ball accuracy is extremely erratic

McFadzean & Diamond didn’t really play as wing backs yesterday. More wingers. It was a narrow back three with Dobson in front & them two alongside Power & Macguire further forward.

We dont play wingers, so what you are most likely advocating is Hume playing in a midfield 3. Parkinson will not change his tactics IMO
