Unwarranted criticism imo, did ok for his first game for months. Give him a few more games and he'll be solid. Having said that, a combination of Reinildo bring mint and Cirkin not signing a contract possibly means we'll not see much of him again. Our loss.
Give him more chances and we will loose more games pollyfilla defender

Bit of a catch 22 situation here:

You would expect him to play better next game having got through the first one.

However, having had to play a full game due to our weak bench is it realistic to expect him to play another full game just 4 days later.

Maybe 09 could come on for him as he tires.

TBF he was only out of position for the goal as he closed down their keeper which was applauded at the time. Some of his midfiled team mates should have filled in and covered for him at full back. I do think he is prone to mistakes over the course of a season mind you but i dont think it was totally his fault today.
I for one didn’t applaud it, he was way out of position and it proved to be fateful.

I think cirkin is possibly similar to lots of others from the promotion team.

Put one or max two of them in our otherwise strongest team and they would probably be fine with the additional structure helping them.

But put Cirkin, Hume, O9, Neil, Isidor, Alese, Mayenda, etc in the same team and you have a 4th placed Championship team that would be a Wolves which is why we replaced most of them with better.
100%

Cirkin was okay. Went walkabouts for their goal but did well considering it was his debut.

Still cant wait for Reinildo to come back. Chalk and cheese.
And two mins after their goal they were inches away from a 2nd with him being exposed at the back post.

Too many Championship team players on the pitch today.

Hopefully he gets better as his match fitness and confidence improves. But as a few have mentioned he's nowhere near good enough when compared to Renildo.
Chasing down their GK was, imho totally unnecessary and allowed them to start the move that lead to their goal. Also on at least two occasions in the FH he conceded possession needlessly when trying to clear.
Renildo is quick, experienced, athletic and a master of some of the "darker arts". Cirkin has none of these qualities. Opposition teams will know this. If he is in the team he is going to have to cope with increased scrutiny.

Xhaka did, but technically, agile winger vs Xhaka normally ends in favour of the attacker, no disrespect toward Xhaka with that, just how it is

Just mistake in him to often sad but true

I think its more a mentality / concentration thing than an ability one.

Hes not slow, decent in the air, bombs on but too many lapses and he needs to stop them.

Still have nightmares about that brain fart he had in the play off final

the rest of the side should have filled the gap just like they did when mukiele pressed to the edge of their box during the first half
Cirkin shouldn’t be pressing that high centrally, once the turnover happened it was game over, we should be keeping our shape as we’ve done well all season.
Were you applauding in the 4th minute at Stamford Bridge?
What a bizarre post

Your right but only due to zero options Thank goodness Boss has more sense than to see reserves as up to the job otber thsn with no choice. Looked like championship game today but excellent point. Brilliant season means we can afford a few reverses while second string fill in. Point today and at Brighton fantastic results. May not be greatest squad but 150% for attitude.👏

You putting Ballard in the same bracket too?

Some of last seasons team aren’t going to make the step up.

Some have grasped that their opportunity early and look assured.

And there will be others who might take a little bit longer, either through age, injuries or they’ll need more time to adjust their game and train on.

But the great thing is we have that rare luxury now where we can play them, give them a chance and find out. If it costs USA few points that’s ok.

Some of these lads have been fantastic for this club and Cirkin is one of those. He’s had a really bad 18 months but he’s got a decent chance of making it as a premier league footballer. Even if that’s a squad player rather than first choice. And the club seem to like him.

People need to get behind these players rather than looking to write them off at the first opportunity (literally in this case).

Agreed

Why’s he still wearing a bandage on a wrist injury that happened over a year ago? He seems a proper wet wipe like. An U21 player told me a few months ago that he’s problems are mental not physical.
