We’ve got several players who wear them now, maybe it’s a tribute to DC or something I don’t know, all a bit strange
Some players wear one for superstitious reasons now i think. I think it was Jamie Vardy who said he'd injured his wrist and was wearing bandage when he first started scoring goals in the premier league - so he kept wearing one for years

I too find it very strange mind

Wore the strapping for a while as he had injured the wrist, then got surgery, didn't heal properly so bandaged up again, then had had another surgery on it.
Just unlucky that the 1st op didn't solve the problem but wrists are ticky, Big tennis player retired last year after failing to recover from wrist surgery

I had a wrist injury from golf, and I think people would be surprised how painful it is, and how easy it is to re-aggravate with incidental motion. In fact, it's something I still have to manage and think about even now. If he has done ligament damage, it's not fun. I think there's something else too (his dad), but I wouldn't dismiss the injury completely.

Likewise, I broke my Wrist 16 years ago and even now I struggle to twist or play tennis without some discomfort on shots.
