I know it's a lesser league, but Defoe had some quality finishes last year. Fingers crossed that he does it for us.

So we should just accept we are going down and not try and fix our absolutely pathetic goalscoring problem? Instead we've signed one of the PL's most successful strikers, and people still moan just because he'll earn a lot of money.

Just to put it on record, I made my post based on the Daily Mail report about 14million being involved. My point still stands that how are we going to create the chances for Defoe and a three and half year deal is a little OTT but yes I do accept that we had try and do something. I just hope the gamble pays off it's not something I would have tried.

not really

To be fair mate don't know what your personal stance is on the whole blame dishing out thing.

He was getting peltas on here last week for transfers being shit. Bridcutt and Buckley as examples. Defoe is good, the people giving poyet shit surely must give him credit now.

Again - your view might be more balanced, like mine, so I just don't know.

the signing of defoe goes back two years , JD has been close to signing since before gus

the deciding factor wass money, we paid more

gus had minimal influence beyond the fact that if wed had a raving loon twat spunk bubble in charge JD wouldn't have come for all the tea in china
