Defensive drop off

Stopped doing basics,.
Biggest one for me these last 2 games is we dont track runners off the ball ,.

It feels like since the derby win he's tried to take the handbrake off and be more attacking. In hindsight it might be a good thing that both RLB and the recruitment team can see this side can't play a progressive style and signings are needed in the summer if we are to kick on.

Second season syndrome setting in before the end of the first. It’s vital we improve the squad in the summer, because we won’t be going into next season with the momentum we carried over from the play offs.

We were bullied physically today. Bottling tackles, not jumping for headers. Night and day when you compare it to the start of the season.

Whats happened?

Start of the season and even not that long ago we were solid, compact and always able to nick game. Wasn't long ago only 2 or 3 teams had conceded less.

We could head balls out of the box all day. Now we have conceded 9 in 2 goals and nearly all from crosses. Gaps all over the field. Has RLB been told to be more attacking and transition the team or summit?

Definitely something changed. Can't just be the early adrenaline
All O'Nien's fault isn't it?

An accumulation of teams working us out, players relaxing slightly, poor squad rotation, playing players out of position, injuries and players over achieving this year.

I think we’ve let arrogance creep in like against Port Vale, thinking we’re better than we are. We’ve had great success keeping it tight, staying in games and waiting to take our chances when they come. Today we were messing around at the back and started the game going back and forth attacking. We’ve looked at the league table and thought we already had the points

What compounds things is we didn’t change things when it was so obvious we’d got it wrong. We went into half time 4-0 with the same players and playing the same way we did at the start which is just mental

Said in another thread but is there pressure in the coach to be more expansive?

If we are going to rely on player trading then you usually need to play good football to get players sold for big money.
So there should be. We are to negative most of the time. However tonight showed we do not have the personal for that style. Think we will go back to low blocks etc and hopefully adress it in the summer, because we are beyond hopeless going forward

Not doing the basics, stopping crosses winning headers in the box. Mukiele thinking he's a right winger going missing.

Playing Hume tonight at left back versus a quick winger. Not missing out their press we where allover the place the last 2 games.

Plus Le Fee and Rigg not helping out their fullback.

Difficult to know where to start. Heard Le Bris interviewed on talksport and he said the players lacked intensity and dropped their levels and that Forest wanted it more.

Such a disappointment and completely unexpected from this group.

Desperate for us to play a bit more front foot. Lost our DNA last 2 games. Get back to what we are good at.

Probably taking the advice of a few off here and experimenting and trying things for next season

In fairness, he has to do something. We can't be a one trick pony unless we want to get relegated next season as everyone knows what we are now.

I definitely think he’s tried to be more attacking since it looked like we were more or less guaranteed to be safe after beating Leeds. Regis was constantly getting asked about been more expansive and he did say that’s the next layer. Like a say though this group of players aren’t suited to that. Its why Ballard and Alderete looked like world beaters playjing on our 18 yard line heading and kicking with no space inbetween them or behind them but soon as we open this team up the personnel really isn’t suited to that.
I agree and as bad as it’s been I think Le Bris is trying to understand what else he needs to play that way. He’s not shy of breaking eggs to make an omelette.
