From my personal perspective, it is more offering some mitigation for him rather than an outright defence. Before a ball was kicked under his tenure, did i think he was the right appointment? Absolutely not. Do i think the current situation is of his making? Again absolutely not. I really feel ross is getting away with murder with the fans for what hes done to that squad. Incredibly, some people are saying he should still be here. It has been left to pp to pick up the pieces. He has been left with the fall out from frankly disastrous recruitment by ross. Look at the squad he left behind, objectively. No variety in the types of midfielder. No presence, pace or power. He wasted money on about 6/ 7 centre halfs! He had no idea what he was doing. He started preseason with a plan to play 3 across the back, recruited accordingly then ditched it a couple of games into the season!
All of that said, pp should definitely be doing better with what he has. Each passing week sees us nearer the bottom of the table. That cant be allowed to continue much longer. If we are sticking with him, i hope our recruitment is a bit smarter this time and we sign players who arent just suited to pps style, but who can adapt if /when he gets the bullet.
