Defence of Parkinson

Cannot believe that we have people on here defending the worst Manager in our history .

Tactically inept, utterly clueless and now showing himself to be an utter f***ing coward by refusing to do post match press conference.

How the fuck anyone can defend this clown is beyond belief.
God almighty no wonder Boris won , the countries full of idiots

From my personal perspective, it is more offering some mitigation for him rather than an outright defence. Before a ball was kicked under his tenure, did i think he was the right appointment? Absolutely not. Do i think the current situation is of his making? Again absolutely not. I really feel ross is getting away with murder with the fans for what hes done to that squad. Incredibly, some people are saying he should still be here. It has been left to pp to pick up the pieces. He has been left with the fall out from frankly disastrous recruitment by ross. Look at the squad he left behind, objectively. No variety in the types of midfielder. No presence, pace or power. He wasted money on about 6/ 7 centre halfs! He had no idea what he was doing. He started preseason with a plan to play 3 across the back, recruited accordingly then ditched it a couple of games into the season!

All of that said, pp should definitely be doing better with what he has. Each passing week sees us nearer the bottom of the table. That cant be allowed to continue much longer. If we are sticking with him, i hope our recruitment is a bit smarter this time and we sign players who arent just suited to pps style, but who can adapt if /when he gets the bullet.

Who said that? We should be bullying teams into selling us their best players and dominating the league. We should be appointing better managers and signing better players, but that starts with one man, and his name isn't Phil Parkinson.

I'll only speak for myself unlike you who seems to think they know everyone else's motives, but the reason I'm 'defending' Parkinson is that I think the vitriol and bile he has received over recent weeks is absolutely shameful. He's not my choice, he's not a great manager, but sacking him after a few matches because of the baying mob will reflect badly on the club and we'll get potentially a lot worse in January. Give him a window and if we can't improve, maybe look at changing in the summer.

What's unbelievable is that those threads existed about Ross 2 months ago and the same people are looking for an outlet for their rage and going way, way overboard here. It's embarrassing.

No, what’s embarrassing is defending the indefensible.

Even my dad, who usually says we shouldn’t sack managers, wants him gone.

Jack Ross had us 6th, 4 points from 2nd with a game in hand. He was underachieving and was sacked. Parkinson has us 12th, 9 points from 2nd without the luxury of a game in hand. If Ross’s performance want good enough, then Parkinson’s is unacceptable!

We were 6th when Ross was sacked and had lost 10 from 75 games. This knacker has lost 7 from 13 and we're 12th.

Ross had us joint top the day before the league started

The worst manager in history will always go to Moyes. Parkinson has took us from a really shit place to a slightly worse place
