Hear off a Preston fan that he may be signing for us. Could be complete bollocks like just thought I’d pass on.

Goalkeeper who is likely to be second choice there next season.
I reckon it’s bollocks because it’s concerning an incoming transfer.

We won’t sign any players imo. Doomed. :(

SD had to show he had £50m to be allowed to buy safc, and that exclides the value of his businesses etc..amnd saving account
SD made his initial fortune from Hastings Direct Insurance..a company he helped found and was part of a management buyout of, and which was worth £1bn when it floated on the stock exchange in 2015..which is when stewart got a pay oit of £40-£50m. All of this is publically known-last season we spent more than all the otjer teams combined and broke the league transfer record. He has three operating busimesses. insurance, car leading and property-the latter i believe has significant operations on the spanish costas.
A journalist who doesnt understand accounts made up a number for sds wealth and fans who want to believe it, do so.
Got to east;eigh-a club he built stands for and signed players for-then gave away...all shows he has money..and he has shown it at safc.
he is very good at tax though..debt is a tax deduction..and unlike ellis or the drumaville lads he and the company he created to buy safc are resident in the UK for tax purposes.

He helped found a company but was never listed as a director of it?

no why would he be? the extremely experienced insurance netrpreneurs who ran it were directors...stewart as a qualfied accounant went in as an early employee and worked his wya up the ranks to management his family may have bee early investors but just putting money up....-he went in as a founding employee worked his way up a bit..to the point where he took part in the management buyout and got the stake he got..and sold it.none of this is secret..the company was sold by the original founders..then stewrat was a very small part of an mbo..then some was sold to goldman sachs then the company floated..being a director doesnt denote anything much..venture capital investors put cash in to back expereinced people..but they dont want to be directors...stewart wasnt a VC guy in relation to hastings or anything else...but his family might have been...
