:lol: He was anarl as was Wes at Blaydon. I think my first away game in senior cricket was at some backwater like Coxhoe or Coundon.

My debut was at the Fell in a DSL junior game back in black and white days. Took middle and off as a guard and got bowled third ball.

Later I played against Wes (rip) in a cup tie on a friday night, I kept playing and missing to him, each ball he would walk a a lttle further down the wicket and smiled at me. after about the umpteenth ball he was fekkin livid. I was laughing and told him to save his bowling for Saturday. The next ball was wizzing round my ears. We had a pint and a laugh after the game. He was a complete gent
