David Wheater

None of the centre halves we have are dominant or good enough. Baldwin for example isn't really slow, for a centre halve anyway. There's a bit more to it than pace.
Alongside a lump like Wheater he'd probably look a lot better. Don't know if Wheater is an organiser but if he is Baldwin would certainly benefit from that. Still prefer to sign two centre halves though.

Him and Beevers absolutely bossed this league when Bolton got promoted from it a few years back and stayed a solid partnership in the championship to keep them up the season we went down from it (Don't think you can look too much into last season).
I thought Beevers was a good signing for Peterborough and Wheater would be a good one for us.

Has anyone passing comment actually seen anything of him in the past couple of years?

We'll he played for a team which amassed 32 points and conceded 78 goals last season. How many of our defenders looked good the season we finished bottom of the championship and how many from the following have done anything subsequently.

Jones, O'Shea, Matthews, Oviedo, Browning, Galloway, Clarke-Salter, Love, Wilson.

Nearly gagged when I read them

Wouldn't have minded Beevers like.

Sounds promising.

O’Shea and Jones both stayed in the Championship when we went down (albeit Jones is now in L1 with us) and Clarke-Salter is captain of England U21s.
