David Bruce leaving SAFC

Not really happy with this or speakman leaving earlier. But many seem to say it’s all good and to be honest I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes so I’ll trust the process but it seems we’re shedding people who were instrumental in getting us where we are…. Time will tell as they say
We did the same with the majority of the players who got us promoted and it has turned out ok.
Ghisolphi replaced Speakman, and so far this has worked out.
Like yourself, I didn’t/don’t want Speakman or Bruce to leave as they were also instrumental in our turnaround, but as you say, we need to trust the process. The ownership group has got more right than wrong and haven’t made this decision on a whim. Let’s hope it works out.

He has done a very good job on the face of it and I do find it sad he is leaving.

But let's see who they announce as the new CEO. If it is someone with a high calibre and good reputation I will feel reassured.

Its clear that its no longer enough just to be good at the job you were brought in to do, we are always looking towards the future.

Tony Mowbray - good, well liked, sacked for Michael Beale (okay lets forget that one!)
Stuart Harvey, appeared to be doing an excellent job, replaced.
Kristjaan Speakman ditto
Last years promotion team, did a great job, largely replaced.
David Bruce and Ashley Peden transformed the marketing, got lots of sponsorship deals signed - gone

Ultimately it is good that they are looking forward and seeking to further grow the club. The only thing that slightly concerns me is we are obviously just part of KLF and Satori's Bia Sports Group and I hope they don't just see us as a commodity. The big clubs are soulless in my view and lose that connection with us supporters that is so important.

Shame that mind, he’s done a good job and I always seen him and his family using local shops, bars and restaurants. Sound Sunderland lad. Wish him well. I think KLD is looking to sell or doing a restructure to try and take us to the next level next level.

Hope so. Their record of sacking managers without having anyone lined up might suggest otherwise
While I agree. On the business side they do seem to have their heads screwed on and succession protocols in place. Ghisolfi was here a good half season before Speakman left and the club statement has said Bruce isn't leaving till the end of the season to help transition the long term projects.

I can't see KLD selling us anytime soon, he'd make a nice profit but could triple that by driving us on over the next few years where our value would soar. Plus, is it all about money? Doesn't he have enough already? Maybe, he sees awaking a sleeping giant and taking it to the top, challenging for serious trophies, is a bigger thrill/achievement.

Or, he could have proven to his family that he can turnaround a distressed asset and have them buy Marseille back for him to run? Frank McCourt has opened the door for new investment so, may be about to sell?
