Dave Challinor - managerial rumour

I’d have thought most Sunderland fans would be aware of him because of the incident against Tranmere when he was subbed off but stayed on the pitch!
We should have kicked up a right stink about that. In this day and age people would be wanting replays, FA Cup bans and a bit of compo to boot.

The owners are playing a blinder. We actually have people happy with this suggestion. They’ve mentally drained people to the point they’re lowering their standards to a League 2 manager.

And it will be seen as more palatable than St Mirren so we'll all be grateful!

What does that even mean? The highest level he'd managed prior to going to Watford was league 2, which he won with FGR.
It means in his managerial career, Edwards has spent two seasons (about 70 games) outside of the top 2 divisions. Challinor has spent 600+ games in non-league - amongst his entire managerial career.
If we’re fishing around promoted League 2 and are that desperate, let’s get Parkinson back. He’s got loads more experience nearer this level than Challinor.

Rumours starting to circulate that he could be the new boss.

Most recently at Hartlepool and Stockport County.

A win percentage of 53% across his career.

An average PPG of 1.82 across his career.

Highest level managed is League Two - unexpectedly won League Two last season with Stockport.

Known locally for playing entertaining football at Hartlepool.

Won the National League North with Fyle, promoted via the National League Play-Offs with Pools, won the National League and League Two with Stockport.

Currently 10/1 with SkyBet.

Guarantee it wont be him

Yeah but that's only because Edwards was given a chance. Before Watford employed him he'd never managed above league 2.
