Let’s not ask stupid questions. I don’t shop at Tesco anyway. No one is saying people can’t, and it is fine people want to volunteer. The point is they shouldn’t have to as the club should already be doing it. If the club owners did their jobs properly then there would be paid staff dealing with litter etc and there would be no need for volunteers.
If Tesco said they were going to make cleaners and shelf stackers redundant and would rely on volunteers instead, would you be happy with that?
I don’t think anyone expects volunteers to build the south stand extension but I think there is mileage in litter picking and tidying planting etc around the sol. In an ideal world should the council be doing it yes but given the cut’s councils in the north have received I think Sunderland council do a pretty good job on the whole.
I was talking to a mate who is from hull and was at the game last week. His words were the stadium was magnificent but the area surrounding it was grotty.
If people want to commit some volunteer time to improve the area it should be encouraged. Easiest thing in the the world is to sit on a keyboard and complain.
Let’s have some pride in our club and area.
