This is what classes yourself as a 'fan'
I live in Sunderland and was in two minds, I got a ticket in the end as I'm not to keen on the football on show and not feeling ower confident, but had I been in doubt still after reading this post I'd definitely be heading over to get my ticket...

Also il be fckd if I'm letting these horrible fckrs have their own way....

If in doubt and can make it get there, most of all than any time this season whoever takes to the field are gonna need our support.

To be totally honest, I'm just me, and no worse, and certainly no better then any other on this forum. I just love my club and will follow them to the end's of the earth.

Tbh, if people go or don't go is of no importance to me, it's a free world.

But I'd much rather be at the match/any match then watching on Sky...... these fuckers get under your skin and give you a life of hell and disappointments.

Cant get my head round somebody claiming to be a Sunderland fan, who has the option to go to the biggest game of the season, probably after a day on the drink and doesnt bother.

Gonna chuck it out there, there is literally no chance the Mags would not have the Wonga dome full for a play off semi final, even in this division. It seems its not just the quality of the football that is on the slide, the fans also appear to be settling for being 3rd rate. f***ing embarrassing.

.. Bairn's not going but I still bought a ticket, just in case .. Them 11 year-old daughters are not what they used to be ..

We will hit close to 30 with away fans etc , isn’t bad for league one but gutted it isn’t going to be 40+ Considering the fantastic crowds we have had this year , it’s a good indicator for next season if in league one I think our average will be somewhere around 23-25 with the bigger games attracting around 30

We pride ourselves on being this big club, but it’s appears the biggest game of the season, could be our lowest attendance

With regards to next season, the hardcore will remain. The average might reduce, but it will float around the 27k mark. Mind, away allocations need to be slashed

Never even crossed my mind to miss Saturday's match...uploaded my season card after the Southend match.

680 mile round trip and astronomical train prices booking at short notice, but would never use distance as a reason for missing a game (travelling from within the UK, naturally), or it being on Sky TV.

I'll be there roaring myself hoarse on Saturday and then looking forward to the 2nd leg the following Thursday.
I admire your commitment, I do a 640 mile round trip occasionally, but distance is also directly related to costs and disposable income, of which you plainly have more than a lot of people for whom distance/cost is a major reason. It's £20 for a match ticket, and circa £90 petrol plus food etc.

On another issue, It's also related to Family commitments too, as could be seen by the woman today whinging on TV about her old man taking their family into debt for attendance at the Champions League final.

The fans delivered recently coming in huge numbers however management and the players let us down. I don’t blame only around 25-27k (IMO) only showing up this time around.

Plus, all the extra games like Checkatrade and Wembley that people have had to pay for before this, people aren’t made of money.

IMO the club should’ve offered the fans something like a major discount or all tickets at like £10 just to give something back and also try and sell the stadium out.

You’re right mate, but expect to get a lot of abuse

There are EFL rules on ticket prices and the minimum is £20.

We also desperately need to move away from reducing ticket prices. In the past it backfired massively and it’s going to take a long time for our fan base to get used to normal pricing

You're a shit fan in my opinion.

I understand that some people can't make it or can't afford it but if you're able to go and choosing not to cause you're annoyed at the ticket price or annoyed we didn't finish top two or whatever then you're a shit fan who isn't really supporting the team.
I don’t want to go to any but bastards keep ringing me up with tkts........and I love a day out.

Sorry like, I’m with the sceptics on this one. Not a chance 20k can’t make it due to holidays/commitments/can’t afford it. Biggest home game of the season and probably the lowest crowd, it is embarrassing.
Everyone seemed to find the cash for Wembley to jump on the bandwagon and the atmosphere at Wembley reflected that.

I don’ t value your opinion.

I've missed a couple of home games, and done about ten aways this season, fking annoying as fcuk if or when the Wembley rat race starts again, shocking that folk with similar records can potentially miss out while the one game wonders prance about with their Wembley tickets, makes me sick in the gut.

There’s a number of reasons why fans are not going, but mainly because were playing shite and it’s Pompey.

If people only turned up when we weren’t playing shite there’d have been nobody turning up most of the time for years. The players and managers undoubtedly owe us for the support they’ve got this season rather than the other way round, but still support is unconditional and people should want to be there to support their club if not Ross or whoever else to try and drag them over the line. And so what if it’s Pompey? We have just as good a chance of winning the match and playoffs as they do.
