Moeen. I just can't stop thinking about it. Yes we may well still have lost but it seems like such a big monent now. Since that moment everything has gone against us.

Is the pitch this I’m worried about. All to be revealed on Sunday I guess.
We did play their spinners well last year, despite the fears in advance, but this pitch could play against us (from what we hear).
Brilliant, isn't it? Locate Pakistan at Edgbaston for what turns out to be a key fixture and then put us in the same venue for a crucial game. The stars are not aligned.

Just haven’t been good enough as a team when it matters, minor miracle needed from here.

You have to if Roy doesn’t make it

Hoy Ali In up top for the ineffective Vince. Can’t be any worse.

I totally forgot about Dawson, decent with bat too

I just want Plunkett in there, he always takes crucial wickets

funnily enough we missed Willey against the Oz, he would have done well there

It was a bad decision not picking him

There is no scenario when Curran is gonna play, he doesn't take the new ball and he can't take wickets in the middle overs

the media had the story that Curran didn't deserve to miss out, its irrelevant, not about merit always its about having different options

same as in a football world cup squad, diff type of strikers

Best thing Vince did is get out second ball so he didn’t waste deliveries like the past games he’s played let’s be honest. Might as well just promote a hitter to get us off to a flyer. Foakes maybe, solves the Butler keeping problem as well

Especially if it is a slower track when plunketts cutters will stick I think he could be invaluable, plus no coincidence rashids form has gone out of the window since plunks was dropped as well since they bowled together so often

Atherton writing today suggests we are basically banged up with injuries.

Archer playing through injections. Rashid bowling too slow because his shoulder is fucked. Roy, we know about. Morgan, the back is an issue.

Leaving out Hales not looking wise in hindsight.

I would move Ali to open and bring in Plunkett. Lot of talk about the spinning wicket, but we don't know. I'd back Moeen - might sound mad, but this is his hometrack and his record against India is terrific.

Talking of which, we haven't actually lost at Edgbaston since before the last world cup - it's our best ground, both in ODI and Test. Here's hoping.

India lose sharma to a debatable drs decision

Thin edge which showed a spike but it could also have been the pad

29 for 1 off 6

Kohli at the crease
