Fuckity buggersticks. My girlfriend has just reminded me we're taking our 15 year old son to see Yesterday at the pictures at 2.30 on Sunday afternoon. He's a massive Beatles fan and it was arranged ages ago  I need to try and avoid the score and watch it on catch up when we get back.

I can do this.
At 15 year old, he should be thinking I have never seen an England final In My Life.

Yesterday

I am sorry marra, you need to bite the bullet on this one, tell them you feel ill (make sure the fridge is full first) tell them to go for a meal afterwards, and make it a great day, shit 2:30, erm you need to get them out earlydoors, tell them to do something else they like at around 10 in the morning, at 15 I liked sleeping. Sorry no idea, you need to do the pictures another day, organise a BBQ around the cricket and get your sons mates around, maybe some of his girls from school, for him obviously. WHY DOESNT HE LIKE CRICKET?

He does like cricket. I may have to use him to sweet talk his mam into changing the date. Do cinemas even do refunds?

I'd be sacking the bird and putting me kid in a home if I was in that situation.

Just over 25 hours, not that I'm counting down or owt.

Bairstow's review was stupid and a bit selfish I think, but it was very very poor umpiring that cost Roy his century.
True, but having now seen it I think he's got off lightly. Just giving the review signal would have made his point, but standing arguing the toss the way he did, like a kid, knowing there was no way the decision was going to be overturned, was disgraceful, especially when you've got the game already won and a final to look forward to.

When you get in the dressing room throw as much stuff around as you like, but I think his behaviour was pathetic and embarrassing.

Agree, should have been banned.

100% agree - as he was arguing I just kept saying ‘walk off’, ‘just go’ - Root needed to step in earlier too. You can see why he was upset but you can’t do that in those or any circumstances imo.

There is nowhere I'd miss this because of that reason. A movie  or cricket final

A film that is on every day for weeks - and will be accessible by streams - and eventually on Sky etc.

It is a World Cup Final - unbelievable Jeff

Maybe he doesn’t want to jeopardise his “Ticket to ride”?

Seems a real ‘nowhere man’ to me

Exactly.

I watched the 92 final with my mam and dad. It was really the first time I'd took that much notice of cricket. I'd seen other games but the 92 final helped me create my love of cricket.

Dad died in 98 and my mam lives on her own, me, the Mrs and the kids are all going over so I can hopefully see us win with her.

However, when pissed on Thursday with tucker he said he gets 4 tickets for the final and asked if I wanted one as he was getting loads of messages asking for them. He said that if he drunkenly gave one to me then he could justify letting some people down. Now , he was joking, but if he had been 100% serious it would been mam, I have no mam

Banned? A proven beyond doubt decision given against him, should lead to him being banned?

He got the just fine and 2 demerit points

I'm pretty zero tolerance on player behaviour towards officials mate as it filters down to grass roots. Accept the decision like a man and vent off in the dressing room like people have for generations.

Same with Dhoni going on at the end of that IPL game - appalling.

On a selfish note I'm delighted he's playing though!
