Cricket at the Commonwealth Games

Will be keeping an eye on this. Have Australia sent a full strength team?
.

looks like Australia have sent a strong squad as they are 4/9 to win the gold medal

I listened to Holly Colvin (overall cricket competition manager) talking about this on TMS a few weeks ago. If all goes well she plans to put a case together for expanding it into mens cricket at future Games.

Surely they could have had a mens one as well. Development/u21 players as alluded to earlier and use both Birmingham and Worcestershire's ground
Would have been interesting but there’s a lot of the commonwealth teams in test, odi and t20 series, then the 16.4 and the Caribbean premier league, and a thing called 6ixty which Chris Gayle is promoting a t10 tournament

young uns would have been fun to watch though

Ideal for a under 19's competition 👍

Australia in trouble v india chasing 155, they are 34 for 4 off 4.1

Indian called thakur has took all four wickets

Totally agree. Though the royal London will get in the way, with young players scheduled for that.
Depends on what country and time of year the Commonwealth Games are scheduled for in the future . Therefore could be playing Oz,NZ, India etc early part of year.Maybe Canada,UK in our summer 🤔 Be great for young uns development in different environments.

Totally agree. This one has come at the wrong time but when in Australia, would be our close season, so no reason for an u19s or u21s sending a team

great experience for them
