Craft Beer

Right. Coventry. Anybody been drinking there?
They Old Windmill. Not craft but it's the best pub in Cov.

I've had the last week in Belgium. Class. What a country, love it more every time I visit. Few days in Ghent in the sun then the last few in Brussels.

Pick of it was probably Saturday. Couple hours in Oud Beersel then a walk to Boerenerf's quarterly open day. Really impressive setup and the beers were incredible. Got a tour of their new barrel room/warehouse as well, good things on the way and really I'd put them in the category of 3 Fonteinen.

Would recommend to any of the beer nerds on here. Doddle on the Eurostar as well.

Had a walk around Hudswell woods near Richmond today. Walking through the woods, there was a sign for a pub. The Geaorge and Dragon 200 yards. Went up and there was a beer festival on- result. I had a chocolate fudge milk stout- best pint I've had this year.

I was in Bruges and Brussels last year. Went to the cellar bar in Bruges where they have a stupid amount of beers on draught and got a couple of beer flights. I’d been to Brussels before but first time in Bruges and definitely won’t be the last. Bruges Zot was a particular favourite of mine.

Think I will go back to Belgium soon and take in a few different cities since they are all a short train journey apart.

been advised to stop drinking, anyone recommend any alcohol free beer out there - would usually drink bitter/blonde ale .

Doom Bar is awful, Ghost Ship is ok, I'd recommend Proper Job AF as that might be up your street. Sainsburys and Morrisons, i think, sell it.

In Tesco Athletic do an AF golden ale, their IPA is decent enough. Other than Guinness just don't build your hopes up that supermarket stuff will taste like the real thing. Some are decent enough, just don't expect the real thing.

cheers for that, Doom Bar is woeful even with alcohol in it.Will check out others.
Mrs hsm bought me a bottle of alcohol free gin today and a bottle of white wine too ( she feels sorry for me:D )

Did you take the little one? Thinking about doing a Brussels trip with him later in the year, would be with family so they can help us out when needed!

We went to Bruges for the first time as well but didn't really like it. It's overwhelmed by tourism so the entire city centre feels totally plastic. Every shop is aimed at flogging tat to tourists. Not the vibe we enjoy.

Try Ghent next time if you go across, it's everything Bruges is without the low quality cruise ship tourists. Brilliant city.

We did mate aye, been a good trip. Travelling with them this young is easy really, definitely do it. You can take them in any bar or brewery as well without bother.

Would recommend getting out down to Oud Beersel/3 Fonteinen/whenever else is open, there's some nice walks around to follow.

We always stay in Saint-Gilles. It's a nice area with loads of going on and close to the station to get about.

We'll be next over for the Toer de Gueuze next May. Already convinced the partners parents to come over for that one so that we have a bit of childcare support. :) It's well catered to bairns though, plenty to do and see.

Ghost Ship is palatable, Nozecco & Gordons 0%

Never got the point of AF gin, I occasionally just have a glass of tonic with a slice of lime, prefer that to the Gordon's 0% to be honest.

I'm quite partial to the odd AF strawberry and lime cider.

I'm lucky in a way that whilst I have to limit my alcohol, I can still mix and match, so only ever have 2 or 3 AF when I'm out, 4 or 5 proper drinks mixed in with that.

Had a couple of Salts Alpacalypse session IPA at Seaburn Inn yesterday. Poor. Was convinced it was a sub 4% too until I checked later.

If I'm doing that it'll usually just be the occasional Guinness Zero or a Schoff thrown in (I know it's not a zero but if I'm looking to play it easy).
