Craft Beer

Never got the point of AF gin, I occasionally just have a glass of tonic with a slice of lime, prefer that to the Gordon's 0% to be honest.

I'm quite partial to the odd AF strawberry and lime cider.

I'm lucky in a way that whilst I have to limit my alcohol, I can still mix and match, so only ever have 2 or 3 AF when I'm out, 4 or 5 proper drinks mixed in with that.
Mrs reckons the Gordons is fairly close. Couple of years ago I did Dry January & she made me a G & T. I was quite impressed as couldn't tell the difference. "Oh, I made you a proper one, didn't think you'd like the 0% stuff.."

Had a couple of Salts Alpacalypse session IPA at Seaburn Inn yesterday. Poor. Was convinced it was a sub 4% too until I checked later.

If I'm doing that it'll usually just be the occasional Guinness Zero or a Schoff thrown in (I know it's not a zero but if I'm looking to play it easy).
Don’t think I have tried anything from Salt that has any taste. Been to their taproom pizza place in Malton too and it was all tasteless shite.

Tried a couple of the Asda exclusive collab beers the other night. Full Circle DIPA was really good, Sticky Toffee Pudding stout was a bit disappointing. Tasted good but was a bit thin - lost it’s head immediately after pouring which ruins a stout for me.

Was more because the other keg options in there are poor and I'd never had it before. They dont keep their cask well in there. Two on. Both Anarchy. Neither any good (tried both before settling on Salt). Was only there as saw a couple of mates when passing. Should've just got a Guinness.

If that was the St Ives one, it was f***ing horrible. Had it Friday. Actually a sink pour from me. It was that bad I wondered if I’d got a bad can.

The Alpacalypse is still better than the Atlantic Pale they used to sell.

Guinness 0% is the fall back position as most places sell it now. Cloudwater Fresh is pretty much the best mind

It's still on iirc. And is lifting.
I had a couple the other week and thought they were pretty good for the strength. Was after a ten mile walk though so I might just have been thirsty.
I'd say that's exactly what they are for. Putting away sharpish if choking. To me it felt like the one time I went AI, going down to easy, was supping ten pints, tasting and feeling nowt.

Yeah it was that one. The taste wasn’t bad but it was thin and borderline fizzy which ruined it. I’ve still got one in the fridge, I got two of them and two Full Circle in the 4 for 3, I won’t be rushing to drink it.

Anyone tried Jaipur on Perfect Draft? It’s on a PD offer bundle and don’t know whether to try one. Had Club Tropica on PD before and it was boring as hell so tend to stick to German lagers which are always excellent - nothing more disappointing than trying a new keg and not liking it. Life is too short for drinking beer you don’t like.

Had a couple flights yesterday afternoon.

Bought a few pints of some cofffee blonde thing too. Decent.

They Old Windmill. Not craft but it's the best pub in Cov.

I've had the last week in Belgium. Class. What a country, love it more every time I visit. Few days in Ghent in the sun then the last few in Brussels.

Pick of it was probably Saturday. Couple hours in Oud Beersel then a walk to Boerenerf's quarterly open day. Really impressive setup and the beers were incredible. Got a tour of their new barrel room/warehouse as well, good things on the way and really I'd put them in the category of 3 Fonteinen.

Would recommend to any of the beer nerds on here. Doddle on the Eurostar as well.
