Craft Beer

Not sure if it's a mental thing, aesthetics or if there's a science to it but when it comes Cask, particularly dark beers/bitters the same drink as a half doesnt seem to have quite the same mouthfeel or creaminess/smoothness as a pint.

I’ve drank plenty of their stuff, not sure if I’ve ever bought direct from their site likes.

Both are decent enough.
Doing my bit for the Wearside beer economy.

Vaux sub box payment has been taken. 12 cans arriving soon. Been to Brew Lad today & bought 8 bottles of stuff. Mainly stouts. Messaged Wear Beer about picking up a few of the core & imperial stouts. Got a few Double Maxim & Maximus knocking about too.

How much are the WB impys? Had it in Isis a while ago, superb.

Mixed case of 6 bottles is £16, add £2 per Impy I think it was. Waiting for him to confirm the price.

Not had it yet, but the core stout was great in the Isis.
Aye, I was told it was coming back. Cuzzy was possibly the first IPA I loved. NZ IPA if I recall @dangermows. The NZ bit means nowt to me.

We need a return of Monk St Brown too

Anyone tried stuff of vocation and Northern monk websites
I’ve ordered from both. Just ordered a stout pack from Vocation earlier this week, 24 cans for £58 with free delivery, received yesterday. Vocation do decent stouts so it’s pretty good value. Never had any problems with deliveries in the past either.

Haven't tried the stouts but I like different types of beers and have tried most that Tesco have so might treat myself.

Vocation are a safe bet. Nothing to get too excited about but as you say decent and value for money. Just got this.

Cheers. Just swept in and got a few. First time order too so free delivery.

Presumed, wrongly, this was Isis. Went to Lambton House and clicked. Tucking into a few now (and spunked 25 quid on three cans from Yonder too )
What do you think of the place ? It’s a great addition to the town.

Funnily enough in the Isis now, a very nice cask stout on from red willow

Really good. In keeping with Isis, which I rate as Sunderlands best pub. Cuzzy great as expected. Outside of the Vaux stuff other options get the thumbs up. Had a Verdant pale which was excellent and a NEIPA (can't recall the name now, possibly a reference to television) was superb, even at 9 quid a pint (had two). My only negative would be to get it a tad warmer (but that's just me, I'm often feeling the cold when others are sweating their tits off). Only fireplace I noticed was on the way to the bogs, which is more a feature than an actual. It'll be frequented often.

Class. Best complement you can pay it, is that it feels like it’s been there forever. Before the match midweek was superb.

Will be superb when the pizza place out the back is open - the space out there is f***ing huge

I was in on Thursday night and it wasn’t warm then either. Decent pub tho, good selection of beers and the lads behind the bar were very good. Dunno why but I was expecting it to be bigger.
