Craft Beer

And we’re off….
I’ve not tried Forged but my favourite amongst the other 3 is black heart, I find it a bit sweeter than the rest. I know we’re not meant to like BrewDog but I can’t help liking Black Heart.

So, they were all a bit shit to be honest

Guinness draft, I’m all owa it. I’ll have a dozen tomorrow. Out if a can it’s pretty shite.

Camden, nee point whatsoever. No flavour or taste, just bland.

BrewDog is ok. Slightly better than the Guinness.

Forged was decent, I think. Very malty. Maybe it was because it was the most different from the other three. If I had it alone, not sure I’d have thought it was any good.

Of the challengers.

A&H > Forged > Brewdog > Camden, despite that order I'm not sure i could session Forged.

Still not had A&H. They get it on in Blues, but I rarely get in. Too far away & im not often out for the sake of going out.

Had a pint of Camden in the Port of Call, can felt the same as the pint, bland. Moved back to Guinness after. Won’t bother again now.

I’m going to guess we’ll see Forged pop up on tap somewhere. Not had this version of Black Hesrt on tap yet, but had a few of their other incarnations of Black Hesrt.
Anyone tried vocation death by cherries
Not my thing. Never got into Sours & cherries are shite in beer.

They’ve got them in Tesco I think.

Whilst I never really got into the Craft Beer craze, especially drinks out of a can, mainly because of what I saw as the over inflated price of the stuff, I think Craft brewers have gone bonkers over the last few years. At first some of the stuff was okay, but these days a lot of it, is just absolute shite, lazily brewed, full of adjuncts, sweeteners, flavourings and syrups, not really very good for you. Thankfully things seem to be changing, a reality check, that is seeing some brewers now going back to basics, producing more traditional beers, simpler and solid, which is basically what I believe the majority of people always wanted, as opposed to the gimmicky stuff that was been foisted upon them.

Disagree. Still plenty of brilliant offerings and clever use of adjuncts. That's not to say some didn't go over board. A lot of the beers are expensive to make so never got the outrage over pricing either. It is nice to see more straight up stouts and bitters emerging mind.

Rustica beside Nissan, formerly the Three Horse Shoes, has Forged on draft. Its my local, and the food is good as well.

I like it but the Guinness in there was always revolting so I worry that I'll go up one day and the Forged will be shit

Coconut pisses all owa it
Coconut and Cherry stout…mmmmmmmm!

I disagree with the post you replied to but for the opposite reason, most craft breweries have always produced fairly straight forward crowd pleasers. There aren’t as many mental beers at the minute, probably because the market has contracted and they’re more expensive but you’re right that there are still plenty to go at.

Only place I’ve heard of having it in. Was surprised to see it in Asda the other day, was aware it had hit the market properly over here yet.

Got to say like, I’m turning more & more to solid picks rather than random stuff now. Stuff like Jakehead, I now pick one up everytime I pass Rehills. Black Wave & Stormy Petrel, I built up a decent stash of those.

Think you're saying the same as me marra. I said some might go daft, implying most don't. Perhaps I couldve been clearer when referencing those that make clever use.

Traditional suppers might not even call them straight up. Especially 11%ers. I've rarely gone near the daft overkill stuff tbh. Remember Playbrew doing a few types that put me off.

I think some see craft beer referencing say strawberry and think it's going to like having a strawberry yoghurt, when in fact some would struggle to even pick the strawberry out.

Always loved NEIPA style, and still do, but cant whack a good west coast when its needed.

Vault City are still going batshit mental, but they seem to have their audience firmly in place.
Not my thing at all them as they are all about sours.
