Coventry

Coventry hoping to spend £50-60m over the summer so that sounds like a tough season ahead.
Where did this come from like. If it’s true they’re down.
If you guys want to waste 36 mins of your life, then have a look at this.
I'm sure it was the same for the City of Sunderland last year, with a football club uniting the whole population in celebration.

I still think Brentford will struggle next season.

Three promoted teams will be chod as well I think. Surely can’t have any money to spend, any of them….. Coventry might have some team spirit which might get them close
Sorry like, but team spirit alone doesn’t get you anywhere near.

I believe it’s a skill to sign players that will sign players who’ll buy into the team spirit. We seem to have drilled into our new signings that this is a working class city with an underdog story to tell. I also believe the likes of O’Nein, Hume & Ballard were strong enough personalities to show the new lads the way.

Get it wrong & that team spirit idea disappears quick.

I have no strong feelings about Coventry. I shall weight them up as I will all of our opponents when I see what sort of a squad they have in August. Which was what everyone failed to do last year when they declared us to be relegation fodder about five minutes after the final whistle at Wembley.
This. People ignoring Xhaka's reminders to stay humble. Nobody knows who the promoted teams will sign or who will step up a level. We could easily lose 3 players and get the replacement recruitment wrong. It's fine margins.

I think you spelt one incorrectly. It should have read "One big club" and that club doesn't start with a C.

Should have included AFC Wimbledon, Ipswich and Portsmouth in it. 3 sides in League One in 2019 who have also won a trophy more recently than Sunderland. 😉

In all seriousness, you know what I meant. Two sides bored playing the likes of Accrington and Fleetwood got lively with each other. Was the same with the other bigger clubs in the division.
Their fans are absolutely desperate to sign Wijnaldum on a free apparently.

Amazed he's still playing

I think that would be a pretty decent signing for us.

I think your bigger problem is that Frank is going to get a job offer when Tuchel gets chucked out of the WC in the first knockout round, if today’s England squad rumours are anything to go by.

Coventry is possibly the biggest shit hole in the entire country - on top of that most of them are C*NTS. Who in their right mind woudl want to go and play football there. Davis Speedy, aye. nutf sed.

Show the working out for me that Coventry are a “big” club. Genuinely. League titles, numerous historic players who’ve graced, or even been recognised at the highest levels? Major honours? Consistent decent attendance?
None of the above.

Coventry, honestly? Even just in the midlands you’re lagging miles behind Villa, Wolves, Birmingham, West Brom.

All said, you’re a Charlton, Crystal Palace, Stoke or Burnley. A reasonably well supported club just now. Could do alright if invested in but that’s about it.

Even clubs of similar stature as yourselves, regards stadium and fan base such as Bolton and Preston have a decent history at least.

Invest or die this coming season. Your boss man has suggested that he’ll stick rather than twist. Let’s see.

Been little no no issues in the past 4/5 fixtures.

It was a symptom of two big clubs rattling around League 1 craving a bit of drama after playing the likes of Scunthorpe, Fleetwood and Accrington Stanley each week.

However, I've said on here before, I welcome any type of rivalry with any club. I'd rather play Sunderland in a game with a bit of needle than Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford etc.

Rivalries and stories are what makes football. It's the same with Boro and Southampton. There is a story and there will be hatred from both sides going forward. Makes for a better occasion when both sides play each other.
Erm no it was because your lot threw glass bottles and all sorts of other shite down onto Sunderland fans from a height.

Mate it really wasn't what I was getting at.

But yeah, compare Coventry with Stoke and Charlton!

As I said at the time, it was pathetic and an embarrassment to our club. We had lots latch on to that big day out in 2019 and caused bother.

I'm near certain Frank will be managing England in the next 12 months.

He will do a very good job with it too.

Fair enough marra.

Imagine his pace has dropped off a cliff but he could be the kind of experienced head that lifts younger players.
Champions league and PL experience.

As a newly promoted club, you could probably do a lot worse

A bit like Kyle Walker was for Burnley?

Stoke and Charlton are both bigger clubs
