Coventry, Ipswich and Hull

No they don't. Most Coventry fans expect us to be fighting for every point.
We’re all fighting for every point… I’ll still be happy if and when we reach that 40 point mark next season. It’s a brutal league

How many players do you think will likely make the step up, and how many players/areas do you feel you need to strengthen?

If you do “only” have £40-50m to spend and £20m of it is being used on the keeper you already had last season, what do you feel about your chances?

And for the record I’m not writing you off. You might recruit incredibly well, maybe you do have a load that will surprise and step up. Maybe Lampard IS an absolute genius and you’ll keep smashing in 30 yarders too. But I’m not having that your lot aren’t showing a lot of confidence on here

I’ve posted out of the 3 to come up I unfortunately think Coventry are better suited suited to survival

Long as it’s not at our expense

It actually could be the Mags. Poor/nonexistent scouting or recruiting team. Very poor form and a manager out of ideas. A want away squad and many ageing. Owners who are not interested and rarely involved. Angry fan base. Out of Europe. A precarious PSR/SCR position.

They do have saleable assets, but are the least likely to reinvest it well.

If they dont have a good start this coming season, the bubble could burst spectacularly.

I expect Leeds to struggle next season. I think they'll have a second season syndrome and sack Farke.

Fair enough, we'll see how he does in the PL. Either way, if we go down we'll have a saleable asset or the best player in the Championship in 14 months.
More hyperbole. How could you possibly know that he’ll be the best player in the championship in 14 months time (if you go down)

Not an “excellent keeper”. It has to be THE BEST
You lot can’t help yourselves man

The players who I expect to make the step up are Milan Van Ewijk, Ephron Mason-Clark, Onyeka and Rushworth.

There's a decent chunk of players who might. It could go either way with them. We will have to recruit very well to stay up.

There's one Cov fan on here who's super confident, the rest like me are level-headed. Everyone I speak with expects us to struggle but is looking forward to some good days out.

Yeah maybe it’s that lad (is it Astor or something) that I keep seeing

Even you don’t help yourself with your above “the best” comment above mind mate

He was comfortably our best player and one of if not the best player in the division.

I don't think it's so bonkers to say Rushworth would be the best player in the Championship if we got relegated! 😅

In 14 months time? You have NO idea who’s going to be there man

Just say he’s an excellent keeper if you must, but why does everyone have to be “the best” etc with you lot

Like the mags of the midlands ;)

I thought Bobby Thomas would be one of the main ones expected to step up?

It's impossible for any of the promoted clubs to imitate our transfer window last summer. They may be able to unearth the odd good young player from abroad (although not sure they have the European contacts we have) but they definitely won't be able to sign a Xhaka or Mukiele. Doesn't necessarily mean they'll all go straight back down though, there's more than one way of skinning a cat. Getting some early momentum will be key, if they're in the relegation zone after 10 games then I fear for them.

There are one or two Cov players that might step up. I don’t think any of the back four do. I think Rushforth probably will, Onyeka might, Rudoni might and despite often looking shit Haji Wright is one of those players that might get 12-15 whatever league they’re in be it league one or the premier league.

I can’t imagine that any of the promoted clubs will be able to spend as much as we did last summer.
They probably won't due to the rule changes. The money needs to be square after one season now. We had a 3 year period to buy then sell later if required. That isn't an option anymore.

I can't imagine Wright will make the step up. You can normally half the amount of goals when a player comes up. But I honestly don't see what Wright is actually good at?

Gokeres was a real unit, powerful and pacey, his finishing was questionable but he sort that in Portugal.
