Brum have a huge fan base despite the fact they have never won the Cup or League. Don't underestimate their support. As for Coventry, they had some amazing crowd numbers in the sixties, when the guy hated on here, was manager.
Their forum is a bit like the Beano ,but not as funnyAnother quick browse of the Cov forum for me just now. They're saying Mount would be a realistic signing for them, Kondogbia will be a terrible signing for Sunderland as he has never been good and we've had a freak season and will comfortably go down next season.
Bobby Thomas and Simms of course will be storming the league though.![]()

Water under the bridge now my friend. Happy that both of our clubs have enjoyed a great 12 months since. I’m looking forward to us competing in the top division again, we all know it is likely to be a difficult season but if we can’t be optimistic now then when can we?Mate we won the first leg at your place 1-2 and drew the second leg (AET) at SOL.
According to the rules of the competition the second leg continues in to extra time if the aggregate score is level at the end of 90 minutes. Coventry did not win either leg as at the end of 120 minutes of the second game that match was a draw.
The only thing that Coventry achieved was to take the second leg in to extra time in the hope of winning the game by at least one more goal than Sunderland which they failed to do.
Throughout the entire 210 minutes of football that was played during those semi final games Coventry did not at any stage hold a lead over Sunderland on the aggregate of goals scored and that IS a fact.
If its the same one I was looking at this was a gem.Another quick browse of the Cov forum for me just now. That’s even more worrying for youOut of all the players you could have picked, Bobby Thomas is a strange choice.

Mason Mount is NOT a realistic signing for Coventry or us for that matter due to his £100K+ a week wages.Another quick browse of the Cov forum for me just now. A move like Mount to Man Yoo and the likes of Drink water in the past, when they clearly weren't at the required standard, kills their career dead, but rewards them handsomely. They're basically unemployable unless they take a significant pay cut.Mason Mount is NOT a realistic signing for Coventry or us for that matter due to his £100K+ a week wages.
We did have a freak season due to our very successful transfer business. The thing some people don't seem to realise is we will still have the vast majority of those very good players next season too.
It's absolutely bizzare to think the likes of Roefs, Mukiele, Alderete, Xhaka, Sadiki, Le Fee etc are going to suddenly going to turn into poor players over the summer![]()
2 very different players for me. Drinkwater had one very good season at a smallish club. Gained a couple of England caps. He moved to Chelsea and couldn't hack it at that level.A move like Mount to Man Yoo and the likes of Drink water in the past, when they clearly weren't at the required standard, kills their career dead, but rewards them handsomely. Good luck to all of them ? Really ?Chances are, based on their current squads and historic facts, that Coventry, Ipswich and Hull will all go down.
What we can't start is questioning their optimism, questioning their hopes and dreams that they might stay up, we had those same hopes and dreams, and many would have questioned us last year, or laughed at us, and we all know how that turned out.
Good luck to all 3 of them. I do think they'll get relegated, but then many people thought the same about us.
Correct, but to me there is only one Cup, ie the FA Cup and several other cups. Any number of clubs have won the FA Cup or old First Division or Premier League - Birmingham City are not one of them. Considering their location and support over the years, they must be the biggest underachievers ever.Brum won league cup with Alex McCleish in charge?
You don’t need to wait, Dan Ballards extra time goal settled the tie in your favour and I didn’t have an issue with that, you won fair and square and look how well you’ve done back in the Premier League.
My point was that @Lord Potts said we hadn’t won either leg which was factually incorrect.
He's one of a few who I'd back to make the jump. If we are getting battered every week, which everyone on here is saying
You didn’t, the final score was 1-2 in the first leg and 1-1 in the second leg.You don’t need to wait, Dan Ballards extra time goal settled the tie in your favour and I didn’t have an issue with that, you won fair and square and look how well you’ve done back in the Premier League.
