Coventry agree 11m deal for Haji Wright

The Japanese lad? He didn’t score a goal last season

No, he didn't. And strangely, that goes to confirm my comment. He is/was bought as a LWB/LB/Winger. He's not a central midfielder so we're not expecting goals from him (though those would be nice). But we are expecting him to turn defences around and set a lot of goals up.

As a supporter of the US of A, I think he's at Championship level but would I have paid 9m for him??? No. He is very well liked by supporters at his club in Turkey and he has taken the long road through Europe since leaving Los Angeles as a teen for Schalke(I believe), or at least somewhere in Germany. He did score the goal for us in the World Cup in the knockouts against the Dutch to make it 1-2(it was deflected) and I do believe he's a late developer, we will see. He's got a bit more speed than Simms and has a higher work rate, so can see him, Hamer and Simms pairing well together and creating a nice partnership.

Be amazed if they keep Hamer.

Splashing the cash! Do they have a stadium to play in this season by any chance?

LOL, that was funny... for about 6 1/2 minutes over the last 10 years. None of our fans were happy about what the owners were doing. And anything we did to bring attention to it got ridicule and jeers from fellow fans.

But times have to change and I guess so will your sense of humour ;) We've got an initial licence to play at the CBS for the next 5 years and discussions are ongoing about beyond that. We can't own the CBS as the current owners (Fraser Group) don't want to sell at this time.

Sadly, we're a prime example of how not to act after selling your ground in the chase for more money. And a laughing stock to many.

I think they're going to fall off a cliff this season, IF they lose Hamer.

He's single-handedly good enough to turn them from mid-table to playoffs, but if he goes I think they'll really struggle.

How’s the pitch looking. Reckon you can play a home game without postponing?

Definitely going for it, him and simms will be a very big physical pairing, the lad they signed from Belgium to play in behind is apparently good too but I'd never heard of him

Went straight over my head sorry marra
Who's that? They signed a 22 y/o right back from Heerenveen.

Yep. New owner spent 500k on a pitch that will likely be the best in the division. We've regained the Wasps changing rooms and are in the process of installing safe standing by May.

Pic on Twitter from a day or two ago made it look perfect for a sand castle building contest. So while you struggle to beat us at football, your lot may still have a chance to win something there ;)

From what we're told, it looks perfect and we should be ready to go (that could be a good name for a football forum 🤪). It's been completely relaid so no more rugby boot prints in the penalty area deep enough to break an ankle. But the first home game in 10/11 days time against Middlesborough will prove whether the pitch specialists have done their job right. Unlike our previous owners, we've actually paid for proper tradespeople to do the job.

Personally, as he's not made any sound about wanting to stay or go, I'm getting the feeling that it's not IF he goes, it's more likely to be WHEN. Last season, he was awesome but before that, he was 50/50 so whether we have someone in the wings who can step up to the mark, our gaffer will know. We were pushing for top 6 the season before you were promoted but fell away at the end so it's not too far to go to get back there. Or we could do a Huddersfield 😭

26 yr old Japanese player from Oostende. Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, a left footed right wing back/RB/RW.

He sounds shite.

If we hadn't had Gyokeres, yes we wouldn't have had the £20m to spend. But we'd have also missed out on his 20+ goals from last season. It's not the player we've lost, it's what he gave the team. We now need a 20 goal a season player and I don't think Stewart would stay fit long enough to get us those ;) So we're speculating the money on players we hope will. Nothing is tried and tested in football. These could well be complete failures in our league but chances have to be taken. A similar player in the UK would probably cost twice as much.

I'm not a club insider so can't guarantee this. But I don't think we're basing our transfer strategy on the postings on an oppo forum  Oh, you meant your squad ? Ah, they're a good bunch of players. Some quality, some shithousery. Exactly what you need for this league. Whether they can sustain what they achieved last season, only time can tell. They're a year older and more experienced. But there will still be clubs who think you're ahead of your game (Leeds, Leicester etc). So enjoy the football. And I admire your optimism :D:lol::D

Who have we signed from Belgium ? Oh, you mean our new Japanese Bullet train. Tatsu Sakamoto from Oostende. He's not a midfielder. From what we've seen so far, he's fast, very quick with the ball at his feet and can put in some nice deliveries into the box. Still not sure if he's a LB, a WB or an out-and-out winger as he plays all three quite well

Whatever happens, whether we hit the promotion spots, stay mid-table or worst case struggle, we're going to have an entertaining season.

Good luck to you lads as well. May the best three teams get promoted.
Thanks for your input, however misguided nonsense it is. We’re walking the league, Champions with games to spare.
