County Cricket 2026

Literally not heard a peep out of the club since the final day of last season. It’s a shambles.
Loathe as I am to defend club management there have been regular updates on those playing abroad and I suppose there's little else to report on. News on an overseas bowler signing would be welcome but those we've had don't fulfil their contract -Spring in NE England doesn't appear to be an attraction.

I see Siddle has signed for Notts in the blast.
I didn’t expect him back here but thought it would be worth mentioning all the same

He is still performing at a high level despite his age. We are desperately short on bowlers, if Raine or Potts are unavailable for any meaningful length of time then we are probably turning out the worst attack in the division.

I’ll be keeping a close eye on Leicestershire this season as the closest County club to me. Technically I’m just over the border in Warwickshire but Edgbaston is a right pain in the arse to get to and I prefer the smaller and more comfortable environs of Grace Road which I frequent several times a season. Already got the Notts game circled on the calendar in early May as one to attend.

I think they will surprise a few people and stay up comfortably. They’ve made some shrewd signings.

As for Durham I fear a poor season in Division 2. Things won’t change whilst North and company remain.

Moving to a new venue sad but inevitable. Hopefully, the Hundred money will help them to relocate. That's if this new money ever appears!

Reform are putting council tax up 9% in Worcestershire - maybe it’s to buy better flood defences for New Road?

Nice to see. Surrey 's attendance was at about 50,000 in 2023 so huge growth. Anyone know how other sides did in 2025?

Credit to Surrey, they've been outspoken supporters of the CC and done a great job of attracting crowds.

Absolutely, it’s easy for some people to lash out at Surrey but they’ve done more for the sustainability and future proofing of county cricket than any other of the 18 counties.

I don't think we'll ever attract particularly decent crowds where we're based. It will always be a huge shame the ground wasn't somewhere more accessible IMO

Yorkshire/Scarborough still learning nothing with their pricing .

This is ridiculous. I went in 2023 when we played there, I am sure it was at least £20 then and I thought that was steep, even more so when it pissed down and we got no play after lunch  .

I wouldn't mind, it's a decent ground from an old fashioned nostalgic perspective, but the facilities are crap.
