I think you are allowed to play amateur cricket as an asylum seeker. From another website....'His asylum process culminated in the confirmation of refugee status in September 2025'.....which ties in with the timing of his short contract........I think.
 
At last somebody has prepared a book for pre season odds for both divs of county championship. Possibly surprising to some Durham have been quoted as 10/3 favourites for division 2 with Lancs at 7/2 and Worcestershire at 4/1.
In div 1 Surrey favourites at 7/4 with Somerset at 9/2 and Notts at 11/2.

We'll finish about 6th next season - genuinely don't know who's going to get us twenty wickets in a match. I'm not a betting man but if I was I'd put some money on Derbyshire.

When Durham relegated Lancs at the end of the 2024 season I was talking to a Lancs supporter of over 50 years and he reckoned it would be years before they got back into the top tier.
