County Cricket 2024

Has that been confirmed now? Strange signing considering The arrival of Ackerman.
Must be a rule now that we have to pick a western Australian.

Don't get it when Ackermann offers the same role. Penny for Bedders thoughts.

Campbell said it on comms yesterday albeit I missed it
Blood is thicker than water is the expression that springs to mind. Been pretty underwhelming here in the past.
However, presumably Ackerman and DeLeede will be at the World Cup although Campbell has never mentioned it.

The Dutch qualified so you would expect both of them to be in the squad, plus any warm up camps

Didn't even think about Netherlands tbh

Well the Turner signing makes more sense then. Still think we'd be daft not playing Bedingham if we can.

Boland isn't exactly a premium T20 bowler, him and Raine got pretty much identical stats in terms of average, economy rate and SR.

Believe Ackerman is no longer commited to Netherlands. De Leede was away with Netherlands when Ackerman flew out to Zimbabwe with the majority of the squad.

Perhaps down to pick and choose nature the associate teams suffer from, due to their earning potential better playing for counties etc.

De Leede didn't play their T20 games because they didn't matter. Whereas he played the ODI's as they do matter. He's also a native Dutchman and defs sees it as his duty to the his country.

Ackermann perhaps not in their ODI plans seeing as he'd be 36 at the next World Cup.

Hopefully Bedingham is here for the start of the season then
Good spot!
Just checked fixtures WP last group fixture is 27th April. Then there is the semi finals and final which extend tournament for another year.
Bedingham is now committed to South Africa so may well decide to stay over there.
If ge does it probably confirms the rumours of last season that this is probably his last year at Durham as his 3 year deal ends and he decided after a year if it he didn't fancy being English qualified.
That should be extends tournament for another week.

I think this explains how Campbell will be solving the conundrum of which top 6 batter is being left out to accommodate Ackermann 😁
