County Cricket 2023

What happened?

Everyone thought the game was drawn as it was announced the home side needed 53 off 1 over to win then it was pointed out by someone that the usual 2 overs lost between innings isn't applicable in last hour so therefore 3 overs remaining but Umpires were on the phone for 20 mins to ECB while the Leics players stood on the boundary like tins of milk.

Decided its 1 over remaining. Interestingly Leics are -3 on their over rate....watch this space!

I trust they’ll be deducted points then, given that we were.
Needed 53 to win off 3 overs but didn't know if two overs had to come off for change of innings.

They always do 🤷‍♂️

I always thought it was applicable mind, why wouldn’t it be 🤷‍♂️

Anyone know the long range forecast for CLS Thursday to Sunday. Don't want to get to cocky but with decent weather i fancy us to beat Yorkshire comfortably.

I've found this season that the long range forecasts have been all doom and gloom and also thankfully utterly wrong. So at the moment it's sunshine and showers on Thursday, dry on Friday, rain on Saturday and sunshine and showers on Sunday.

lts also supposed to be slightly warmer which will come as good news for anyone who was there on the Saturday against Derbyshire.

I shall also hand the reins back over to @brandon for the thread duties.:D

You won’t like, you’re unbeaten this season 🤷‍♂️

Gloucestershire recorded a loss of more than £500,000 for 2022/23, after investment in the squad was not met by results on the pitch or attendance in the stands.

Just got my ticket for Leicestershire v Sussex on Saturday. Another ground checked off the list. :) Although I’ll have to leave around half 4 to get back in time for the Sunderland game.

Hoping to see Smith or Pujara bat.

Rushy has trapped Alistair Cook lbw .
Two more for Rushy, Dan Lawrence and Matt Critchley. 3-18 off 6.3

probably the best seamer never to have played for England, he'd be in with a shout this season if he was under 30. The move seems to have given him a new lease of life

It's nonsense he never got a go when we had Jake Ball and Craig Overton bowling 78-82 the summer after Rushy got his PCA Player of the year award.

If he could bat he'd have definitely had caps and he'd have not averaged 114 like Jake Ball with the ball that's for sure.

Rushy being similar to Jimmy hasn't helped either tbf, unlucky to be performing at the same time as our best post war bowler.
