YES WE GYAN
Striker
Good luck to him. While Durham aren't in a position to match the ambitions or salaries of other counties, it's bound to happen.

There is but in the long run it will be better for Durham if the players know there is no coming back once they choose to leave. Remember if you leave Durham you have to up sticks and move home because of our location. A lot of players move counties but they are close to each other and do not have to relocate.
No we will have a budget akin with a minor counties side within the next couple of years if ECB have their way.If we say, for arguments sake that he was offered £80K and that money is now free, we can offer Onions most of that and sign another player with what's left + what Arshad is on. That is if we're allowed to do so.
Werent surrey paying for his and Stonemans digs down in that there Landarn town? There is but in the long run it will be better for Durham if the players know there is no coming back once they choose to leave. It would be a great first step to block any kind of return for Borthwick.
We are actually inside the ECB imposed budget this season. If we had wanted to we could have signed a 2nd overseas for the T20. But i don't think long term we could afford it.No we will have a budget akin with a minor counties side within the next couple of years if ECB have their way.

I tend to agree long term an overseas wasnt needed as we were 5hit so would have been a waste. We are actually inside the ECB imposed budget this season. If we had wanted to we could have signed a 2nd overseas for the T20. But i don't think long term we could afford it.
Coughlin leaves having played just 29 FC games for us and is 25 next month. Surprised at how few games he's featured in.
Interesting point about selectors having conflicts of interest
How can Mick Newell be a selector and work for notts
How can he say to coughlin you can get ti England playing for us
The whole thing is a scandal
So pleased we have Botham to stand up for us
It's a disgrace
Good luck to him. While Durham aren't in a position to match the ambitions or salaries of other counties, it's bound to happen.
I believe he was offered a fantastic deal
So this post is an absolute f***ing load of shite mate.
In general terms, Durham have for years offered kids peanuts hoping they would get away with them signing. A lot has been documented over the last few years in relation to this which you should be aware of anyway.
It's now coming to bite them in the arse, not withstanding the restrictions placed on them, they still continue to offer shit wages to the lifeblood of the club. Surely questions need to be askedof Harker and the clown Lewis before you go slagging off lads who want to better themselves.

He's clearly rated highly, and as such his market value is dictated by what he can get from Notts. Its up to Durham to match this.Hes never even played a full season for us, we've paid him to be injured, given him captaincy opportunities and hes fucked off.
Don't blame rocky or badger but coggers leaving is a disgrace
Very true Stuart Rayner makes a good point on his twitter feed about Mustard and Muchall it works both ways. Onions in a similar position this season. He's clearly rated highly, and as such his market value is dictated by what he can get from Notts. Its up to Durham to match this.
The loyalty argument doesn't wash either. As long as Durham can release players who have given good service, then they can't complain if players choose to leave.
Well if they are leaving purely for the pound note then not good enough. Enough people on here like to refer to them as mercanary. No they haven't
Stoneman, Jennings, Borthwick and Coughlin were all offered very good deals
I agree with the good service bit. But Coughlin hasnt given good service. He has kept Nigel Kent in a job thoughHe's clearly rated highly, and as such his market value is dictated by what he can get from Notts. Its up to Durham to match this.

Depends on what you mean by good deals......clearly they could get better elsewhere.......durham have tried to do things on the cheap for a few years now and are paying the price when it's comes to loyaltyNo they haven't

I've voiced my concern about Harker for years and I would gladly see the back of Lewis alsoIn general terms, Durham have for years offered kids peanuts hoping they would get away with them signing.
