Cortisone Injection

Had 2 didn’t work eventually was sent for a mri scan on my shoulder which showed a torn tendon, had keyhole surgery at rvi never looked back. Ultrasound didn’t show anything so push for mri scan

I suffered from a dislocating shoulder. Happened loads of times to the point, it would pop out if I stretched.

Keyhole surgery from the front and the back to stitch the ligaments back onto the upper part of the humerus.

Still clicks uncomfortably when I’m training.

Had a frozen shoulder, never knew what one was. Had pain for months, worked with aggressive patients in hospital. Sent for xray the scan. Within a month occupation therapy. Had cortisone injection every 2 weeks for 2 months Absolutely knacked.
Same as me marra, had one injection in the shoulder, no more, it bloody knacked, and didn't do anything to help the frozen shoulder. Had that bugger for about 8 months.

Need one in my left shoulder for a nerve impingement. The pain is f**king unreal at the moment.
Had loads of physio but not sorting it so told this morning to see my doctor for an injection.
Has anyone had one before ?
Did it work ?
How long from seeing doctor to getting the injection ?
Did doctor do it or did you need referring to the hospital ?

TIA
It's a short term solution to a long term problem. I'd get to the underlying cause.

Had bother with my left shoulder a few years back. First injection was by GP which didn’t hurt and was a waste of time. Second one was done by MSK specialist guided by ultrasound, almost passed out with pain but completely cured issue - no problems since.

The right shoulder is a different story, more recently had a frozen shoulder and wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy 😞 Over the worst now though thankfully.

Have an appointment for Injection at surgery on 23rd at 10am. Will I be OK for the match on the afternoon or will my shoulder be f**cked for awhile.

You will be fine I had mine in hospital and was dancing in the rabbit the next day

I had dreadful pain in both shoulders years ago and tried the cortisone route and it didn’t work at all.
I then had keyhole surgery to scrape out whatever was causing it and I’ve had no bother since!
Go for that. 👍

Had the injection on Saturday morning and felt fine afterwards but the next day, Sunday and today I feel like someone has hit me with a sledgehammer, can hardly lift my arm. Doctor said it would take a week to see any difference.

I’ve been waiting for an appointment with the MSD at Sunderland Hospital since September. Left shoulder as well. Probably going to need a jab

Done the AthleanX rotator cuff exercises to try and strengthen it and it does work for a bit but it comes and goes. Wakes me up at night
