Does anyone know if any further talks between the leagues have taken place yet ?? or is there a timescale for this to happen.

Top brass from DCL, DCCL and DSL met yesterday to discuss - will find out what was said and post on here asap.

Apparently the meeting originally scheduled for the 29 April was pushed back to middle of May.

All Coast League clubs were asked to submit a written proposal for what they believe the league should do going forward (i.e stay as we are, look for two more clubs to replace Washington/Harbour or look for a merger with DSL/DCCL). These proposals are going to be discussed by the clubs in a league meeting on Thursday night.

it looks to me that the coast league are quite happy to join with the county league but the senior league want to go it alone with promotion and relegation to and from the NEPL

Not doubting what you say SL, but is that correct?

Without knowing any of the details behind that decision, its a somewhat strange turn of events.

After all that would appear to be a return to the status quo from a year ago, the one that the DSL rejected last summer when it looked like a couple of its most prestigious clubs might face relegation.

The DSL are in the process of disappearing up its own arse. history seems to weigh heavily upon it but they surely have to come to a conclusion that its over for them.

however no doubt durham city are egging them on.

Durham city are a troublesome club and need to be fucked off at some point. Its time they were told that money counts for fuckall and they are just like everyone else.

They weren't too flush last I heard. Nice bunch last time we played there too. Lovely place to play at.

Think Durham are up shit creak money wise

Know a couple of lads from the committe they do their best

They are what I would call a "stuck" club

county board finally getting involved and the senior league could be cast adrift is the latest im hearing

Seems like the DSL have made the first move - certain Coast League clubs have received letters in the past week inviting them to apply to a "better league" for 2013.....

The DSL really do have an inflated opinion of themselves. i hope the Coast League clubs tell them to f-off.

Any ideas which DCCL teams have had the 'invite'? It's a bit rich that the DSL seem to be cherry picking who THEY want...

I really hope that the DCCL teams stick together on this one, but based on previous form, it wouldn't surprise me to see a few put themselves forward. Boldon CA have made no secret of their ambitions. Hylton had a sojourn out of the League if I remember correctly after they put themselves forward for DSL Div II a few years ago, didn't they.

Since a lot of this carry on was the DSLs own fault, in my opinion at least, it would be very ironic and really disappointing if this lead to the downgrading or, in the worst case scenario, the demise of the DCCL.

Indeed!

whenever anyone mentions the DSL to me I immediately think of durham City and how they have been allowed to dictate cricket in this area despite being utter shite at a senior level.

I really dont like that club and they to me represent what the DSL hierarchy is all about - arrogance and inflated egos due to money.

They really are a boil on the backside of Durham/NE cricket.

Why dont the DCCL and DCL invite DSL teams to join them in a new league.

It could end up with Durham City playing with themselves!

we have been invited to apply for the DSL but have declined in no uncertain terms.they also indicated that they would be happy to carry on with only 7 clubs next season but i find that amazing considering that 2 clubs have shown an interest in joining the revamped county/coast league

interesting. who are these 2 clubs?

i think all of those 3 clubs will turn down the senior leagues advances.

dont think i should name them, it is perhaps up to the 2 clubs to inform everyone or not as the case maybe
