Graceful, can glide past players as if they weren't there. Hardly ever panics when he has the ball even when in his own half and under pressure. Always looking for a forward move, great vision and the ability to realise his vision with exceptional passing. For the oldies, the slide ball rule/pass. An ability to strike the ball cleanly and accurately on goal. The ability to have the ball under control before he has even touched it with that sideways movement thing he does which will become his trademark.

Whats the point of the comment then, all you've stated is that any decent footballer on the ball (of which there are hundreds in england alone) could fit into any midfield in the world and not "stand out"
Saying Henderson could play in Barca's midfield and not "stand out" isn't even a compliment by this logic

Well of course it was a compliment. To play in the then best team in the World and not be the weak link is indeed high praise.

He sounds like Zidane. I think the graceful bit is very true . I think he’s a very elegant player . I think when it’s quick and he’s under pressure he isn’t as composed . Early on in league games and he struggled early on at Arsenal . I don’t think he always looks forward either . He goes sideways a lot . He is a very good striker of the ball and has good vision too . I’m afraid I don’t get how you can have it under control without touching it . He’s a very good player but he’s miles off the top young players . The pace of the game at that level is completely different

If the ball is moving in the direction you want it too, you don't need to slow play down by taking a touch. You move with the ball. That's how many good players are said to ghost past the opposition. He is much more like Xavi in his style of play. I'm not comparing them ability wise.
 
Wow, hardly a surprise mind. The consistency in which young players are written off by some of our support is ridiculous.

His versatility is very useful as well, I thought he was shaky at wing back in the home tie against City but he was immense today.

Henderson always had the potential to give us something different going forward but his work rate and defending were embarrassing at times.

Tbf, I remember Bruce saying in like 2011 that Henderson was worth an extra 10 million because of his attitude at the time- didn't drink, looked after himself, first in last out of training.

Makes a big difference, if you remember Carrol was a contemporary or Wilshire.

Colback didn't necesarrily lack the quality, he had an attitude problem, chasing the money, partying with the rotten core iirc. When you are at the top level, it makes a huge difference.

When Henderson left it was done in a few hours, he probably wouldn't have complained if we had turned Liverpool down. He's always just got on with it.

That's the last word I'd probably use to describe him. In fact, his whole posture makes him look awkward looking and he hardly represents the classic image of a footballer. That said, he has clearly overcome all possible physical barriers to become imho the most reliable, consistent and skilful players of the modern era. As you highlighted, his vision is exceptional and is a first class ambassador for our region and club.

Very surprised you don't think his a graceful footballer, his wonderful to watch. Oops you think I'm talking about Henderson.
