Colback or Henderson

I thunk the major difference is colback played his best football for us, hendo didn't, I never once thought colback was better tho.

Tin hat on here but I reckon Colback will be a better player than Henderson. He offers so much more to the team than Henderson did.

His versatility is very useful as well, I thought he was shaky at wing back in the home tie against City but he was immense today.

Henderson always had the potential to give us something different going forward but his work rate and defending were embarrassing at times.
😂😂😂😂

Colback would walk into our current midfield.

First half of the 2014 carabo cup final v Man City Colback and Cattermole were the best players on the pitch.

Spoilt himself with his attitude when he joined the scum and that image of Cattermole standing over him after another win v NUFC is immense!
He’s been starting fairly regularly for Forest this season after pretty much disappearing for the second half of last season. Was he injured last season, bad attitude or just shite?

It’s not a contest , Hendo is and always was streets ahead of Colback. Although he played in a different position Waghorn was a better prospect than Colback and had arguably had a better career.Jack was a safe player who done ok for us.

I think people only believe what they want to “ pass- back Jack “ will never be as good as Hendo and never was 10 years ago.

I always thought Meyler was better than the pair of them.........
What about Steve Berry?
Colback, the poor man's Tommy Miller !
Colback has had a good career. He's 32 and played nearly 400 games at Prem and Champo level. He's limited but good at what he does. The move to Newcastle was great for him financially but possibly stalled his career a bit. He is nowhere near as good as Henderson obviously and that was pretty obvious when they both played first team for us. That said I remember watching a U18 or U21 League Cup Final (?) versus Man City and we had Colback, Hendo and Waghorn playing and they had Sturrudge and Micah Richards playing and Colback was the best player on the pitch. He ran the game and was box to box.

Guess my POOR attempt at sarcasm failed !

Just shows this board isn't great at judging player potential

It doesn’t really. Because lots of people had a different opinion. It shows that opinions are diverse.

For what it’s worth, Henderson always had more potential. He showed far more glimpses of high level quality at Sunderland than Colback never did. At the same age and whilst at Sunderland though, Colback looked more robust and mature than Henderson. Henderson was always prone to do fade out of games with the game often bypassing him. That’s something that carried on in his early years at Liverpool. Colback didn’t do that as much and was, IMO, more tenacious and consistent in his performances for us.

Colback was never capable of that one touch pass at Chelsea, the touch and cross away to Wigan or the performance at home to Wigan though. That’s why Henderson has gone much further in the game (as well as seemingly incredible self discipline, drive and ambition).
