Some people are still struggling with this mate. It’s what happens after having a billionaire owner hoying money around. It’s going to take a while for some folk to get their heads around the reality of our new position.

I don't think I have seen anyone expecting us to spend millions and millions. Most want us to invest to give us a better shot at promotion which seems to be exactly what the owners have agreed to do.

Should be trying to offload Oviedo even if it means on loan with us funding half his wages - he's not playing much and when he does he's playing at a level below his ability which means he's not putting himself in the shop window. Cattermole is a different case - older, not wiser, with an attachment to the area, can't see anyone coming in for him unless he's playing consistently as he was at the start of the season and even then we'd need to pay half his wages (loan) or reach a settlement for half the value of his contract.

Yes we do. It won't make up the drop off from this season but it would still be £6m more than what we'd get if we don't go up.

You're wrong mate. Teams who get parachute money get nothing at all from the EFL TV deal.

Yes, league one teams do only get £1.5M a season and Championship teams get about £7M but that won't effect us until the season after next.

I have seen posters state exactly this mate. I’m all for investing to get us out of this division ASAP, as long as it’s done sensibly and sustainably, which as you say is what the owners plan to do. Unfortunately we still have fans whose idea of sensible and sustainable doesn’t match up with reality.

Clear enough that WW. No good to some though. We have our own " I want an Awab man" dolts as well as that lot. Just not as many

Reset button was pressed, and any normal person can see that the road ahead is a tricky long one. But at least we are going in the right direction now, rather than hurtling towards financial oblivion as was the case nine months ago.

We’ve dropped our costs from over £130 million a year 2 years ago to around £30 million now which is a hell of an achievement in itself.

The thing people don’t get is that although the debt has gone the running costs haven’t and that’s where we’re knackered until we can get rid of the highest earners. Assuming Cattermole is on £40k a week that’s £2 million a year we could save.

I've heard on here a difference of 7m from tv rights, but given we don't get any as we have the last parachute payment that's got to be bs. sure more money on live tv games, more corporate money into the club, more sponsorship maybe but there shouldn't be that much difference financially.

Like you say attendances may be affected and the feeling around the club and any momentum if we have a flat end of the season and cut more wages and don't reinvest but in terms of money for being in the championship then currently it shouldn't be much difference.

Dear me. If we are listening to Mickey Gray's tortured new accent for information we are in trouble.

There may or may not be money next year, in this or another division. But the cash advantage of being in The Championship over League One is relatively small in pure financial terms.

I don't think I have seen anyone suggest we should be spending more than £3/4m, maybe I just haven't seen the posts.
