Cirkin goodbye message

Depends what we offered him, no proof we actually offered him an extension
Thing is there are certain people who can’t entertain etc the notion that à player might wish to better himself (career and/or financial) and that they might want to do this away from SAFC.
It would appear the coaching staff didnt fancy him preferring to play a second choice RB at LB if first choice LB was unavailable. That must have irked to say the least.
When he was fit and available he was a joy to watch and I wish him all the best

Best of luck Dennis. A quality left back on his day and but for a few injuries over the last couple of years slowing his progress, I think he'd have been a regular this season.

As it is, our last 2 seasons have just took us onto 2 slightly different paths, but I can see him being a Prem full back in the next couple of years.

Been with us on the whole journey, one of the core that helped this club back to where it is today and I have nothing but gratitude for everyone of those lads.

Cracking highlight reel from a full back as well.

I didn't claim to be. We all expected that he was running his contract down and moving on so there's no need for all the guff he's coming out with there.
He has been a good player for us when he is fit. It's possible to have all the emotions his video and message suggest whilst being realistic about the professional opportunities left to him at Sunderland and having to move on for the right deal and more playing time. It's not guff.

Yes I thought he was a softy too.

I was talking to a doctor of a championship club, he was saying they do extensive psychology tests on players to determine what type of personality traits they have because some players would lie to physio and say they were fine when they weren't, while others would lie and say their injuries were worse than they actually were.

They also used various pain threshold tests (Pressure Algometry, Cold Pressor) to determine how accurate a player's self reporting might be to get a better understanding if they should be playing or not.
This is true.

I know Rodwell used to be tickled with a feather and howled in agony. While Xhaka had his legs taken, didn't even flinch and played an hour later and covered 10.2 km.

Topper little player, canny gutted about this.
Homegrown aswell which would have been helpful for next season.

Good luck Dennis, you'll always be welcome back here.

It’s inevitable, but it’s f***ing gutting seeing these league one lads gradually leave

It's sad to see them leave but they can all be extremely proud of what they achieved here and their part in getting us back to the top.

West Ham could do worse than picking this lad up for their push next season but I wouldn't be surprised to see the promoted clubs in the Prem showing interest too.
