Any news on his injury?

Far from ideal that he hasn't managed to play in any pre-season.

On the early pre-season videos it looked as though he was almost over his ankle injury

But now seems to have disappeared into a black hole along with Patto and Wilson.

RLB has already said (just yesterday) he will get pre season minutes. The lad has had a niggle. I just don’t get the negativity and conspiracy theories surrounding both him and patto. Rigg is a genuine talent and he is being nurtured and prepared for coming season. To do what he has achieved at such a young age shows he is special and people under estimate him at their peril. He may not start games but he will feature. He will thrive with likes of Xhaka around. Diarra and Sadiki will be surely aware they have someone else vying for their spots.

Its actually a really good senario for him. As you say, he'll get plenty of PL minutes and if I was him I would be really looking forward to working with the new signings, especially Xhaka, with a view to taking a big chance once ramped to in Dec when the AFCON comes. Its a good runway for him and he'll get plenty of playing time this season in the PL and Cups.
 
Was in the video walking in so unlikely that he is injured. More likely what someone in the match thread said. He’s a young lad and has played 2 90s during the week for England

Agree that playing the 2 x 90 mins for a teenager, who doesn’t regularly play a full match is a likely reason.
It may also not be worth the risk of playing him if he did have a slight injury - there’s a big difference between walking in with a tight hammy/minor strain - where there would be no obvious limp (and gentle movement is good for it), and actually playing football.
