Chris Rigg

I think we need a bit of perspective here mind.

Rigg is excellent, he looks to be an exceptional talent and playing well beyond his years. However ā€œbetter than Hendersonā€ ā€œbetter than Jude Bellinghamā€ and ā€œthe biggest talent since Rooneyā€ these are huge claims.

Hayden Hackney isn't. Neither is Tyler Morton really. Elliot Anderson has got a token call so he doesn't chose Scotland for some bizarre reason. I know little about McAtee but I doubt he hardly plays for City. I guess the other are bit part players except Wharton

Pep ruled out a loan or transfer for McAtee to be around their first team. Mind that was before İlkay Gündoğan went back.

Anderson, Wharton and Scott are getting regular Premiership minutes.

Hackney is probably Boros Dan Neil in that he's one of the first names on their team sheet and linked to a few Prem teams.

Tyler is probably the only one I'd say Jobe and Rigg could be in ahead of.

I can understand why neither of them are in since they have time on their side.

I just don't think there's anything special in that midfield that should block the path of the likes of Jobe and Rigg. Honestly can you see any of those picked being in the England senior side in the next couple of years? Maybe 1 or 2

Eerrr Wharton, McAtee and Scott is a yes for me.

The rest are getting exposure to see how they fair.

Plenty of time for Rigg and Jobe to get their crack at it.

While they are watching him the likes of Mundle and Mayenda will also catch the eye, as well the ones that are already getting teams sniffing about (Jobe, Hume, Neil, Ballard, Patto etc)

That frustrating team than finished 16th in the table last season could be worth a £100m plus if all sold for their 'true value' 😳🤯
easily , Rigg and Jobe alone will be pushing £100m if were talking true value in a world where Harry Mcguire fetched £80m

Rigg never makes the wrong decision. Never passes to the wrong wing, marked man etc. Never holds on too long or releases it too early. I’ve never seen a safc youth product do that before.
Even Todd made the occasional boo-boo. Tueart, Bridges, Rowell, Puckering, Venison, Gray, Henderson etc all had summet from an early age but not what this kid has got.
Try and see him in a red n white striped shirt as often as you can.

Whatever the championship transfer record is, it’ll be broken next summer for this lad.

If he keeps playing the way he is, and continues to improve at the same time, most of the top clubs in Europe will want him
We won’t be in the championship next season man.
If Rigg was playing the exact same but for a PL team, he'd be in the current England squad (or at the very least in the u21s).
Easy tiger, there’s a big step up from championship to premiership.

Rigg is playing very well and starting to assert himself in games. His awareness of what is around him and economy of movement is fantastic, always letting the ball do a lot of the work.

He looks to be a great prospect. Some of what is being said about him was said about Dan Neil three seasons ago. Part of his progress will depend on the speed of his physical growth - he already gets stuck in, I revelled im his tackle for the third goal on Saturday, but he will need to be stronger.

I am really happy he is a Sunderland player and I am still stupid enough to hope that he can achieve much in our shirt before any transfer. If the best we can hope for our players is that we sell him for a lot of money and we sometimes get a mention when he is playing for a nation funded club, or even a giant of the game like Brighton or Leicester City it is quite depressing.

Lwt's enjoy him and not talk up his exit.

The lad is destined for the top like. Footie is effortless for him and he’s only getting better and better
Was going to post this myself. It's only a matter of time before one of the big youtubers runs a feature on him.

Good to see him getting recognition, but I fear he's going to be too big for the club very soon. Unless we piss the league and we can really attack the PL next year I can see him off to a champions league side for huge money.

Kids just unplayable.
Closest thing to when Rooney came on the scene.
Said exactly the same thing to my Man Utd supporting mate.

I could totally see him going there too as they need a complete rebuild and a more youthful approach.

Tbf to the lad making that, he’s absolutely spot on in his assessment of Rigg’s mental skills and ability to read the tactics and positions of the players on the pitch

If I were an advisor employed by an agency, but not a registered agent, I would advise a player not to move to United. Too unstable for me and unknown with their new owners what it’ll be like

I was shocked to see Jobe and Rigg not in the u21 squad until I seen the midfield selected for this round of games.

Midfielders: Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest), Harvey Elliott (Liverpool), Archie Gray (Tottenham Hotspur), Hayden Hackney (Middlesbrough), James McAtee (Manchester City), Tyler Morton (Liverpool), Alex Scott (AFC Bournemouth), Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace)
The likes of Anderson, Gray and Hackney couldn't lace Rigg's boots. Gray is only 18, on Spurs bench but is only getting picked because he cost £40M. I watched us play down Leeds, watched him closely and thought he was bang average.

I haven't seen enough of the others to pass comment. Scott only on the bench for Bournemouth, there seems to be a policy of picking expensive bench warmers. Rigg has made a great decision to stay and play IMO.

I would stick a price of £100M on Rigg's head. If Moses Caicedo is worth that he's got to be up there.

Literally every Premier League club is aware of Rigg. If you can start a bidding war the sky is the limit for his value. All he needs to add to his game to bump the price up is a few goals. He scored for fun at youth level, they'll come.

Well yes, Utd are a total basket case atm.

But imagine they come knocking with a new manager next year and the offer of building a new team around him, playing pressing energetic football (instead of whatever Ten Haag is trying to play).
