Chris Rigg

What?

So Rooney and Jude were ahead of Rigg at this point, but that’s because they’d filled out more, is that the point your trying to make here?
What I'm saying is there are certain aspects of the game where being a fully developed physical specimen is an advantage.

Chris Rigg is a 17 year old kid. He hasn't got the physical attributes he'll have in a couple of years time, a more robust frame to hold players off for example. Therefore he'll only get better from a physical point of view as well as gaining experience and knowledge from playing too.

Therefore his ceiling is higher than someone who already has the frame and stature of a man at 16 or 17. So if he isn't quite a Bellingham now that's not to say he can't achieve those levels later.

He's some talent and the usual mob fail to see it.
In a recent match ( might of been Cardiff)he was tracking back and it looked like he was about to put in a tackle. He didn't and the tackle would have been late. It's these minor details in his descision making that put him ahead of his peers, and that's just one area of his game.
He maybe the best talent to come out of the AOL so far.
Who’s failing to see it?
Bet you can’t point one single person out on this thread that is “failing to see it”

There’s absolutely nothing to say physicality will become part of his game.

Your going on a hunch, the fact is currently you can not compare Chris Rigg to any of the 3 mentioned, he is absolutely nowhere near the level of any of those 3 at this stage in his career.

He’s had a handful of standout appearances in the championship, the players mentioned were doing it in the premier league or in Jude and Messis case for 2 of the biggest clubs in Europe.

He’s good but putting him in the bracket of those 3 after a handful of good championship performances is mental regardless of his physique.

If/when he’s doing it regularly at the top level you can compare him to those calibre of players, doing it now is just a completely ridiculous comparison.

Some are down playing it quite a bit.

Chris Rigg looks to be a generational talent. He's been touted as a special player for at least 2 years. He was playing for England under 17's at 15! He was captaining the side at 16.

He's just turned 17, came into the side due to an injury and been touted as MotMs in all 3 games. This is in a side who've scored 8 goals and only conceded 1 in those 3 games.

These aren't normal things, far from it. He's an extraordinary talent totally ripping up the rule book.

Messi was scoring in Classico’s at this age. It’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever seen on here like 😂😂😂

Again I’m not calling rigg before anybody’s heart stops I’ve got nothing but praise . But these comparisons are f***ing bonkers like and probably need to stop for the time being

Physicality is a huge part of a midfielder's and Chris Rigg's game!

The 3rd goal on Saturday!

What the fuck have you been watching 😂

If he's a generational talent then he's a better talent than Yamal who's just starred in a Euros at age 16. Rooney was playing for England at 17 and starring in the Euros when he was 18, Rigg has a lot to live up to if he's a better talent than these! It's putting unnecessary pressure on him he's the best talent we've had for a very long time we don't need to overhype him any further than that.

He's only a boy. A slight boy but despite that he's doing brilliantly at the only level available to him.

He'll grow and improve and we'll see where that takes him. If it's not to the very top I'll be amazed.

I don't know but it's clearly not going to help him, he's so far, far above u18 level that it's literally pointless him going. Just look at these kids in there with him.

Yeah I don't understand why he's playing in that age group, it's absolutely pointless. It's like calling up Bukayo Saka for the U21s.

Keith man think about who people are comparing him to 😂😂😂

At age 16 Wayne Rooney was playing for England, he’d had countless motm performances in the prem.

At a younger age than Rigg, Jude had already won championship young player of the season, had his shirt retired at brum and was starting for Dortmund in the champions league.

At a very similar age to Rigg, Messi was playing for Barcelona.

You’re arguing that a player who has played a handful of CHAMPIONSHIP games at a high level can be compared to these 3 because he’s “not fully grown”.

It’s absolutely f***ing mental.

I'm not at all.

I'm saying he has the potential to be on a par with the likes of Foden. But he's a slight kid who still needs to grow into his body.

I think this is the person who said Jude was as good as Zidane. I’d take it with a pinch of salt mate.

Even that is daft!

Foden who was starting champions league games at Riggs age, that foden? The same Phil Foden who made enough appearances at Chris Riggs age to get a premier league winners medal, that Phil Foden.

A handful of CHAMPIONSHIP games man 😂😂😂.

Next summer will dictate that imo on a number of factors. He will have 2 years left and is typically the time out owners like to cash in, however i'd like to think there's already an agreement to extend next summer like they did with Jobe. If we get promoted he will 100% sign a new long term deal - have a year playing week in week out in the premier league then leave for mega money imo.

If we are still in the championship i think he'll go next summer for £40m

Would love to keep him another few years though. He could stay here a good 3 years and still leave as a 19/20 year old

He plays in a totally different role.

But carry on Mr Chris Rigg and physicality 😂

He won't.

Players are worth what people are prepared to pay. If he carries on at this rate and adds a few goals to his game he'll be worth twice that. That will because of a bidding war.

Archie Gray went for £40M and he hasn't scored a single goal in his domestic career.

What are you talking about 😂

Your trying to justify Chris’s Rigg is a once in a generation talent, justifying him being spoke of in the same breath as Jude, Messi and Rooney and trying to defend that by saying he’s not grown yet so let’s compare him to Phil foden, when that’s rubbished he’s now “in a totally different role” wtaf!!

Just accept your going overboard mate, it’s really not that difficult.
