cat on the right leans inward towards the book, middle cat whilst all symetrical and tidy looks like a lazy choice, 2 cats is one cat too many and cat on the left leans away from book

I was as disorganized but also useless with my hands - fortunately, my Ma stepped in.

That is a canny idea although the spilled poison bottle was one of the other early ideas that got rejected, admittedly not with the cat outline. I'll have a dabble and see although I think the format is largely decided now.
You wouldn't believe how many different designs I have on my MacBook. There's even one with a cat driving a bus, I think I may have been fatigued when I tried that one.

Cheers, is this how you got your promotion?

I appreciate everybody having a go themselves but I don't want people to waste time trying out new designs. I'm pretty much set on the design barring a few tweaks.
Plenty of other authors on here who might be on the lookout for covers though so you never know, you might get some business coming your way.

The middle cat makes it all about the cat, taking some of the emphasis off the barrels of poison/toxic waste/whatever it is.
