They do. I assume they're training for for a large event where roads would be out of action or they need pods from the other end of the country there sharp. We've had nowt to do with it so I'm just guessing.

What are they used for?

They came out after 9/11. The gear in them is mainly used for building collapse. Stuff to make entering safe, shoring gear, simple stuff like wood and nail guns, technical stuff like para tech hydraulic shoring kit, air bags etc.
Regular builders tools, scaffolding Stihl saws, core drills grinders etc
search gear, cameras like the ones docs hoy up yer casen to peek in voids, microphones that listen for people trapped under rubble. All sorts of shit.


I dare say if a really big building went down somewhere, you would probably need the entire countries stock of it there sharp which is probably why the chinooks are flying them in.

Nah it's been planned for months, some of the lads off my watch are there tonight.

There's people up from all over the country from all agencies, I suppose after 9/11 they have to do a massive exercise now and again and it's our turn to host it.

I think it finishes on Saturday.
