this is the thing..they spent as much as they could under the rules thinking they cpuht mostly young players and wouldnt need to spend much in future windows..
its a good strategy as long as
a) you remember to sign a centre forward
and b) you get most of the players you sign not to be shit..

Aye, I lived amongst them for a few years in the 90's and 00's, the majority of their football fraternity were complete bellends. They had very little knowledge of football as a whole and thought they owned the premier league.

There are clubs i dislike for various reasons, heritage, geography or history - Newcastle, Leeds and Coventry come to mind.

I didn't realise they have spent over £1bn since the current owners took over. I'm possibly missing something but currently it doesn't exactly look like shrewd business on or off the pitch.
