Common sense all around then.
The reason is that in basically 135 years of rivalry, a Sunderland first team has never been reduced to having to play a NUFC second string in a competitive game. It’s likely that it may not happen again. As much as I agree it’s a nothing game, to a lot it’s a big pull.
Can’t vouch for @Chop Sauce but @78 I’m going to put my slippers on and watch the stream, just can’t manage a 200 mile round trip and crawling into bed at gone midnight for an evening game anymoreYou stay at home in your slippers being an Internet uber fan. I will just go along to the game and support my team as usual. No face paint required.

As the weekend showed
More like 300+ years of rivalry dating back to the English Civil War
Why would they be bothered about that though? I honestly couldn't give a shit the situation were reversed. Even if your kids beat us I won't lose sleep over it in a nothing competition. I'd almost be embarrassed if we went on and win the thing tbh.
I'm in the same boat as you and I'm not particularly bothered about it, haven't decided if I'm going or not. However, if it was the other way round, I've no doubt we'd sell a full allocation at the Council Ground.
Oh yeah without a doubt we'd sell our allocation, I wouldn't be one of them though. The competition is a farce with reserve teams in it and it should never have been introduced. Just my opinion like. Doubt I'd even go to Wembley if we got there. If we were playing a U23 side at Wembley then I would 100% not be going. Would depend if enough of us fancied the weekend away more than the football.
No it wouldn't at all, giving them the satisfaction of us taking it seriously when we are playing their kids is all they want. Reality is there'll be very few there, people posting on here a few weeks ago they thought there's be 30k, be lucky if theres half that. Certainly not a game I'll be taking the bairns to.So just let them come and take the piss? Be f***ing embarrassing if everyone had this attitude.

There is a delusional belief on here that we would have a big following at wembley for this competition. Would we fuck.
