So the scumbags will have their biggest ever allocation for a game at the SOL, in a game which doesn’t involve their first team ...... giving them 5,000 would be utter madness.

We can't refuse their application as agreed in the terms of the competition.

But,but they aren’t bothered about it Hairy, it’s a non game in a Mickey Mouse competition. They’ve made that clear since the draw was made. So why they want all them tickets is a mystery to me.
Of course they aren't bothered about the competition. It's only their under 21's taking part. But for a one off chance to see their under 21's turn over their rivals will attract a lot of them. And they'll see it as a chance to Lord it over us now we're in league 1.

well yes of course it costs more...more people want to see the game...its against ateam two divisions higher than us, and its a first team game.
Bain wpouldnt have been smart enough to do it.
People want money for players, well pay for it. Accrington charged me £20 to go to their game, it was a shitter stadium, not a derby game, and I didnt get aseat.
This game is cheap at £15 on that basis.

The police can. I honestly thought an away fan ban would be in everyone’s interest. Cheaper tickets for our fans, no trouble, no police bill ..., obviously not.

Absolutely spot on mate.

A 500% price increase to maximise income from supporters knowing they’ll pay it given the opposition is poor form. Almost parasitic some might say

I wouldn’t go that far but I don’t agree with the increase in the slightest

Naive allround gonna be a shit night

yes we played a reserve team in the last round, but this is a local derby. You people want better players to sign, turnover needs to rise, and that means more money hrough the gate. This will be a firt team game for sunderland, and newcastle will put out the stringest team they can, because its a derby.

Sunderland are small time as fuck if they cant sell tickets for £15.
Donald has already said even with the increased price the club won’t make much out of it due to the increased cost. I don’t know why people are still dripping about it. Unless of course they think he’s telling barefaced lies.

5,000 of them will certainly do that, I thought the piss take party was over.

The police can, but the club can't.

It's a toxic fixture at the best of times.

so you have repeatedly said the owners got an "aboslutely fuclking massive club2 cheap, do you8 think absolutely massive clubs ever have fans whining about paying £15 for a first team game.
And as for what it cost in the previous round of the same competition, do you think you would pay more for a ticket to the FA Cup final as ghe FA cup third round

I wouldn’t care if the last round was 15 quid but it wasn’t it was 3 quid

Are you Alastair Campbell? Never seen so much spin in my life

it is. people taking the piss out of the club are being removed, these owners have repeatedly said they want turnover to rise, to get a better budget for players, rules mean they have tp make turnover rise to pay more wages, tickets are a major source of turnover.

Exactly. I thought it was a big rise but since he's come out and explained it I'm happy enough. Bit frustrating not being able to get my ST seat when paying £15 but it's a minor gripe. Don't think he's a liar, if he says we'll not be making a killing then the price is fine, and no one can really moan if the club make a little bit of profit from it!

so do you expect to pay the same for the third round of the FA Cup as the final?#And when the costs of production rise, such as when police bills make putting a game on more expensive, do you think you, as the conusmer shouldnt have to pay for it.

IOt says a lot about the relative size of the north east teams that Newcastle can charge £15 for a game featuring their reserves, and sunderland cant charge £15 for a game fetauring their first team in the same compeititon.
Newcatsle fans are seeing the same price increase, and not whining, I always thought sunderland has much much more potential than newcastle, im starting to believe not. I also understand why Stewrats financial adviser told him not to buy sunderland.

We had a price structure in place for different category games last time we were in the top flight. Prices weren’t hiked 500% from a home game against Swansea in the same competition for example.

You’re exactly right. It’s supply and demand. And supporters are being fleeced.

Simple answer? He has said previously.
Supporters aren’t being fleeced. They can choose not to go if they don’t agree with the ticket price. Simple as that. The test will be how many tickets are sold for this game. That should provide a good indication of how many fans think they are being ripped off.

How much profit are we going to make from it anyway ? The cynic in me is starting to think the police are motivated financially. Otherwise I can’t see how they can possibly believe allowing 5,000 of them into our stadium is in the public’s interest. The Middlesbrough police bill was 55,000 last season ? This game is a night match, against them, double the amount of away fans .... that figure will be more than doubled. 15,000 exclusively Sunderland fans at 5 quid, slight increase on other CT games would generate more profit.
