How much profit are we going to make from it anyway ? The cynic in me is starting to think the police are motivated financially. Otherwise I can’t see how they can possibly believe allowing 5,000 of them into our stadium is in the public’s interest. The Middlesbrough police bill was 55,000 last season ? This game is a night match, against them, double the amount of away fans .... that figure will be more than doubled. 15,000 exclusively Sunderland fans at 5 quid, slight increase on other CT games would generate more profit.
mnuiddlesborugh bill was 55k for one game?? Ouch!

so do you expect to pay the same for the third round of the FA Cup as the final?#And when the costs of production rise, such as when police bills make putting a game on more expensive, do you think you, as the conusmer shouldnt have to pay for it.

IOt says a lot about the relative size of the north east teams that Newcastle can charge £15 for a game featuring their reserves, and sunderland cant charge £15 for a game fetauring their first team in the same compeititon.
Newcatsle fans are seeing the same price increase, and not whining, I always thought sunderland has much much more potential than newcastle, im starting to believe not. I also understand why Stewrats financial adviser told him not to buy sunderland.
It’s the opinions of a few folk on a messgeboard mate, not an accurate representation of the whole fan base.

I think so, read that on here 2 or 3 times but don’t know it for certain.
Google it marra, that’s how I found it.

I sense a mag with fat fingers here.

So the mags have asked for 5000 tickets, do the same rules apply whereby if you apply for a larger amount, you have to pay for all of them even if not all are sold?

Of course they aren't bothered about the competition. It's only their under 21's taking part. But for a one off chance to see their under 21's turn over their rivals will attract a lot of them. And they'll see it as a chance to Lord it over us now we're in league 1.
Me point was, they’ve maintained they’ve no interest in the game yet they want 5k tickets. Not like them to be contrary. They’ve had many opportunities down the years to “Lord it over us” they haven’t managed it yet.

But,but they aren’t bothered about it Hairy, it’s a non game in a Mickey Mouse competition. They’ve made that clear since the draw was made. So why they want all them tickets is a mystery to me.

I would charge them double what we pay, we shouldn't be paying the policing costs for them Fookas

I cannot believe that fans are still calling for banning away fans, what a ridiculous notion. Last time it happened there was hell on as Mags were scattered all over Roker Park and scuffles were breaking out in various parts of the ground. At St James the same season there were Sunderland in one of the boxes and Mags were trying to get to them. Ban away fans and they will still come, didn't we fill swathes of Luton's ground when they banned away fans? Total backward step and ruins the atmosphere, to think we campaigned against the away fans ban and now we have fans wanting one, sad. I can just imagine the uproar if it was suggested that our fans were banned from going to an away game.

Exactly. I thought it was a big rise but since he's come out and explained it I'm happy enough. Bit frustrating not being able to get my ST seat when paying £15 but it's a minor gripe. Don't think he's a liar, if he says we'll not be making a killing then the price is fine, and no one can really moan if the club make a little bit of profit from it!
Which parts of the ground are closed marra?

You’re talking absolute nonsense like

You clearly either know one of the owners or work with them because you’re biased in the extreme

Literally no point talking to you

Which part of increased steward and policing costs didn't you understand?

Don’t have to dump every cost on the fans you know

There seems to be an unusual amount of people flapping about this fixture. I’ve never seen this kind of reaction when we’ve played them before. I can’t figure it out.

It’s not even their first team in action though. I don’t think anyone would advocate for a league game. It’s a bizarre match which is fundamentally wrong.

Had enough of him gave up yesterday marra.

If you went to the last home Checkatrade match maybe you should pay the same price but anyone who hasn't been to a home Checkatrade match should stop moaning about the price increase.
