He is commentating on the punishments there, though Lehmann 100% knew.

Which is fair enough imho, if that's the case.

But then the question is .... why didn't DL know? As we've been saying he either knows, in which case he's guilty, or he didn't, in which case he should have.

If this was a one off I'd agree, but there is a massive theme with him not criticising people he knows, the Piers Morgan school of thought.

Anyway, ignore that, my Vaughan hatred is irrelevant here.

Warner telling specific instructions on how to alter the ball shows he has done it before

Even if Lehman in this particular instance didn't know they were going to use sandpaper, I just don't believe that as a team they haven't used ball altering tactics before. The bowlers always know exactly what was going on with the ball, if they didn't, they why didn't they question it.

And Lehman had to go for developing a culture where this could happen, he has lost control of the dressing room, its exactly what Micky Arthur got sacked for

100 hours community service? what the fuck is all that about? I'd get the lawyers in if I was Smith

But the biggest bullshit is that this is an isolated incident

The biggest thing for me is they walked into the press conference and tried to lie about what had happened. Hard to feel sympathy for them after that

The luckiest bugger in the whole shebang is Tim Payne. A year ago he wasn't even getting picked by his state. Now he's an international test captain.

One is spur of the moment, and affects only one ball bowled. The other is calculated and premeditated, and affects every ball bowled. Can you really not see that?

Quite hard to access the penalty's given out to the players in Question, No doubt they tried to cheat, Imagine in Football if a player was banned for diving in the penalty box, essentially cheating what the repercussions would be, as we know this happpens and yet no bans.

The length of ban is ridiculous, lets be honest.

Its just the perfect storm.

Good point on cricinfo pod, for those who know cricket well, you understand its cheating but they've just gone a fair bit too far. However to someone who doesn't full cricket that closely, it seems like a ridiculously bad crime, it was the lead story on the BBC news. Its an easy story to get interested in, it seems unfair that they have cheated and should be punished. Which is why CA have acted so much.

Initially I was delighted they are banned, but I kind of like test cricket with big rivalry, even if I hate the people doing it, it is better to watch.

Reverse and ball tampering is so contradictory in many ways, bit like my opinion on this.

Put it this way if that was Root and Jimmy, I'd be very angry at a year sentence, its who it is that is clouding my judgement.

Who it is is what matters though. Rat face and vole face. This has been the best week ever.
