CC : Yorkshire vs Durham

Listen I'm more than happy to admit I'm not the sharpest tool in the box at times. I could have limited it to just the Leeds and Sheffield folk but that would be untrue
In your defence I tend not to think of your part of Yorkshire when I think of the stereotypical Yorkshiremen.

Good day, full bowling points and a solid start with the bat. Hopefully can kick on tomorrow, be interesting to see if either side want the win or if they both happy to get a draw

Thats the sensible thing to do, but doing it is 1 thing, and they said this year they were playing to win, so wonder if we'll declare to try and bowl them out, or look for a bit lead and bowl them out without having to bat much again. Also interesting to see how they approach it

I said yesterday if it was colly think we'd have forfeit first innings to make it a game but bonus points and draws is enough to go up so why risk it.

Could they look at changing rules, in that if you forfeit first innings, then bonus points count in 2nd innings, might help promote teams to go for wins still in rain affected games

Always said it should be agreed that both teams forfeit second innings so you can still claim bonus points in a one innings game

*Insert story about taking negative points from a one innings game due to slow over rate

Been reading through the thread and the scorecard and from the position we were in, I feel it’s been a good day for Durham

hopefully we can go past their first innings score to at least have the draw in place .

Looks likely that Division 2 games will all be draws, getting maximum batting points is going to be the question? Do that and the title should be sewn up!

There is rain forecast (Met Office) tomorrow afternoon, so there’s a good chance we will lose as much as a session. It would be difficult to see us winning from here, so bonus points on the board has to be the aim.

The scoring rate slowed towards the end tonight as the light was failing and Lees and Borthwick weren’t taking any chances. This has effectively also taken time out of the game.
