CC :: Worcestershire v Durham

Close:

85-2 (22 overs)

Worcestershire require 357 runs to win.

Two wickets in the mini-session, would’ve liked atleast one more but we’re still on track to win this game.

For me two things to note.
Stokes constantly bowled short. He made the batsmen hop about, but it didn't seem to threaten a wicket. Should have bowled fuller or at least mused it up.
Rushy and Potts looked threatening, whereas previously Potts did but Rushy didn't. Hopefully this is Rushy out of his trough.

Finders crossed that the pitch deteriorates tomorrow.

Should have enforced the follow on. Locals were suprised we didn’t and believe their in with a chance of a draw now as we have wasted too much time adding needless runs to a big lead. Apparently the wicket here is not prone to breaking up but a few deliveries did seem to be keeping low. Nice to see Rushy getting back into a bit of a groove. Need early wickets tomorrow otherwise they will be able to dig in. Anyway as ever can only wait and see what tomorrow brings.

Haven't seen any of it today as been at my own game. Glad to see Rushy getting a couple! Surprised they made 300+ but should still be a comfortable Durham win I think

Dont agree at all like, IMO anyway, appreciate you are there

if you cant take 8 wickets on the final day then I think you just say well done to the opposition

there is plenty of time

Conditions murky and damp in Worcester atm. Due to brighten up by 1100 but a bit of cloud cover might help 😁

But surely when you well on top you give yourself as much time as possible.

Just my personal opinion but captains now across all teams in the longer format too risk averse and not positive enough.

Of course easy for me to say that not having to make them tough decisions😀

We gave ourselves 118 overs to bowl them put.

If we'd have put them in and they had batted 118 overs, we would have needed to bat again anyway.

Yeah get that, just always want to give a team in a winning position as much time as possible and batting again takes time out of a match.

It would be a shame after a poor start to the season and playing catch up not to really put down the peddle when in such a commanding position.

If Durham had to bat again and that a massive if no issue at all as more than likely very low score to chase on a good wicket.

Again just my opinion and the way I look at it very very surprised in general why follow ons are not enforced 90% of times.

They're in a position where they could win this - all they have to do is increase the tempo a bit.
