CC :: Warwickshire v Durham

Jack Burnham is an enigma, he’s had more chances than he deserves and his record is abysmal, the odd good innings every ten games (I’m being generous there) is just not good enough.
For my money he’ll be released next season.
an enigma certainly although to be fair there have been signs of increased maturity this season. His scores haven't always reflected but there have been a few times this season where he's hung in during testing times. There's no question about ability,it's powers of concentration that are lacking. He's like Nick Peng but without the financial support to fall back on so it's up to him and how much he wants it. There's a 2nd XI championship fixture today then the RL 50. Last chances.

Was stood in the queue this morning waiting to buy a ticket moaning to myself about how long this was taking as they were having IT problems. Got to the window and the same lad who served me yesterday said as yesterday was a washout it was on Warwickshire today. Nice one saved me £15.
Good to hear. Couldnt imagine that happening at Headingley.

Stokes is bowling some loose stuff. England say he won't play in the Pakistan T20's cos he isn't match fit. Yet its fine for Durham to play him to build up that fitness....

Burnham scored a ton three innings ago. His average is a tick under 30 which I think is quite acceptable for a number 6 batsman in our lineup.

Naw he didnae.

Last four CC innings were 9, 2, 5 and 6. Also scored just 45 in 7 x T20 games. You can see why he's been dropped, Jones has been a bit more reliable this season.

You’re right, I had erased the Essex game from memory.

45 from 7 T20 games is in my opinion irrelevant - different format, different ball, etc, etc.

Eckersley handed over the gloves to Bancroft and is now fielding in the covers!
Eckersley now goiy to have a bowl very strange!
The over rate is -4. But even so you would think Borthwick would bowl well ahead of Eckersley. Or they would both bowl in tandem to try and catch up.
Newball taken and Rushy now on instead of Eckersley.

Marty just mentioned that Scotty withdrew from the last T20 game in the warm up with a side injury so may be unfit to bowl. But very strange for Eckersley to just bowl one over before taking the new ball.

Is Borthwick injured?

Some twatful decisions being made lately that have totally derailed a good run of form.
.
Good job we lost a day to rain as the decision to bowl looks bad as well.

Hence Eckersley turning his arm over. Said it enough times but we really need more bowling variation and options. Stokes can bowl a decent off spin, maybe he should have a crack at that.
But really for one over and now he had got the gloves back on. Agree about Stokes and as iam typing he gets Lamb with a bouncer.

Brilliant C&B by Stokes. Just thought he had stopped it.
And another one. Could be batting tonight.
